I am a Hunter/Huntress -- Yes or No:  Yes!  Oh, yes!  I’m a hound!  This spring I tasted squirrel fur!  The varmints were in the bird feeder and I snuck up on them.  One of them jumped down and got stuck in the fence!  And I got him, just for a second!
 
What I do when my Hoomans are away:  Snooze, keep an eye on the siblings, snooze

Story about me that my Hoomans would like to share: 
After Cocoa crossed the bridge we were looking for another senior girl to keep our old Patches company.  We discovered Dottie at the Harmony Hounds Rescue in VA and we picked her up on the Friday after Thanksgiving!  Dottie is a retired breeder dog from Nevada that had 7 litters in 8 years.  She was physically and emotionally a wreck.  She has had 2 separate surgeries; hernia & hysterectomy before adoption and mammary glands removed since she has been with us.   Now, she lives like a Queen, snuggles on the sofa and sleeps in the big bed.  She is the ultimate “momma” dog and she is always watching over the other 2.     

Story that I want to share about my Hoomans:   When I first arrived here I always walked with my tail between my legs.  I was afraid someone would yell at me or I would be kicked (I’m afraid of feet).  Now, I go on walkies and go fer rides (Mom says I always ride so nice in the back seat) and sniff new places.  I love cuddling with Dad and always make sure I give him lots of loving so that he holds me close and scratches my belly.  My tail is wagging all the time now and I like it here!

Tank y'all fer yer kind words.  Yes, I gots ice cream with whip cream on top.  Mmmm...that was soo good.  Sometimes I afwaid dat it will get stolen I eat the ice cream all in one bite.  Have y'all ever seen a dachshund with "brain freeze'?  It's not funny...really it's not.  Momma rubs my head when I do that and it feels much better!    :thumb:

Kathleen, it woudl not surprise me if you have seen my name or the kennel's name on doxie papers.  7 litters is a lot of puppies...and since I'm now 8, they puppies could have puppies!

Hi Dottie:This is Blusky&Manny here wif our momma Kelly in Illinois wanting to tell you that we are soooooooooooooooooooooo sorry that we are posting on your "STAR OF THE DAY LATE" momma's been busy.Guess what we went to a dachshie picnic last week-end and on the way home momma Kelly and hoogamma Sara stopped at this place called Dairy Queen and Manny and I got a little dish of ice cream-vanilla.It was good and cold.Momma says to have a good week-end and we'll talk to you some more.

Wow. Talk about a coincedence!   Porky Pie's mama looked identical to your Dottie.  Her name was Half Blue Moon Pie "Dottie"!   She was sold because her last litter almost killed her.   She was pregnant with five pups and ended up having a C-section.  That was Porky's litter.  We lost track of her after she was sold.  We wanted to save her sooo bad, but we couldn't come up with the money in time.   

Your Dottie is just adorable!!   Thank you so much for rescuing her!!   :apls:  I think its really awful what she went through before you could help her out.   Hope she had a great day with lots of treats!!
