Hello everyone!

Long time no post from me and the grrls.  It's a little crazy, but I wanted to check in and give a bit of an update on us. 

Elf has just turned 4 if you can believe it.  It seems like yesterday I was pregnant with Cajsa snuggled on my tummy!  She is something else loves her doggies and loves her puzzles/books.  She has started preschool and is doing wonders there.  I'm very proud of her. 
Cajsa and Gretchen are plodding right along, they are FIVE already.  The barkday is in Feb. and they will be six.  That seems wrong somehow.  Gretchen doesn't look it, but Cajsa has grey in her muzzle fur and a few strays in her body hair as well.  Gretchen has decided I'm an OK person and has adopted me as a not as distant 3rd on her list of favorite family members.  (Elf and David are #1 and #2 respectively.)  She has gotten past her snapping and fear aggression issues, although she will occasionally still nip.  I don't hold that against her though since she definitely gives a warning first and only sets her teeth without clamping down.  Considering how fast to BITE she was when she first came here I have no complaints.  She is a bigger luvbug than Cajsa if that's possible. 
Cajsa has recovered from her back surgery she had a couple of years ago.  She runs and plays like a crazy hound.  She doesn't do stairs unless we ignore her and she has to PEE! Then she goes very slowly and will stop if we catch her, so she gets carried the rest of the way.  She is a good weight (9.8 pounds) and has good muscle tone.  We actually went to the vet this morning for a check up and he was pleasantly surprised at how well she was doing.  I would say 99% of normal since she still gets a little hitch for a few steps if she's been sleeping or something. 
Anyway, we are doing better now that things have gotten less hectic and hopefully I'll be able to stop in and post more often!

Great to hear from you and to get an update on the girls !  Saw your post about Cajsa's eye.... no words of wisdom - just sending rays they figure it out and can get it taken care of !!  Keep us updated !

Don't mind me, but I have to ask:  Elf is four and in pre-school?  You were pregnant with Cajsa?  Who is Gretchen????  How do you pronounce Cajsa? :scratch:

Can you give me a scorecard, complete with names, species, ages, and who is that adorable "elf" in the avatar??? :photo:

Elf is my hooman daughter.  Cajsa and Gretchen are littermates although I've had Cajsa (KI sa) longer.  Gretchen lived with my grandparents before they were unable to care for her, then I took her.  While she was there, a caregiver abused her hence the fear aggression I mentioned in my previous post.  The cutie in the picture is Cajsa aka "batdog".  While I was pregnant with Elf, she would lay across my tummy, and 'protect' me (or more likely the Elf inside!).  Does that clarify anything or just confue even more?  :-)

Its great to hear from you!! I'm glad all is going well for you all.  I really hope Cajsa's eye gets better really soon. Like Barb, I don't really have any advice just rays.

Great to hear from you, April!  Glad things are going well.  I can't believe how much time has passed.  I remember when you were pregnant with Elf. 

We're doing well.  Maddie will be 11 in November.  Now THAT I can't believe.

Wow, April - it's good to hear from you!  I thought you might have dropped off the face of the earth!  It is good to hear that Gretchen has settled down and loves Elf best!       WB!

Hello April.  It is very nice to hear from you.  I am so very sorry to hear about Cajsa's eye....I wish I could help you with some information but all I can do I send plenty of rays and prayers for a complete recovery for her.    Do you have a current picture of Elf to show us?

I feel loved!  I've been missed! 

OK enough of that.  I actually don't have any recent pics but I'm trying to get some.  Elf is a ham, so you'd think it'd be easy, but oh well.  Cajsa doesn't mind the camera either way and Gretchie hides from it!  It is nearly impossible to get a pic that shows her face anyway! 

I didn't realize that Maddie was going to be 11!  WOW! is all I can say.  Where'd the time go?  We have the baby blanket sent to Elf that has all the dachsies from when she was born and I swear it is odd to think of them as being older or adult (instead of pups!)

It's great to hear from you April! Of course you've been missed!  Glad everyone is doing well and I hope you will have more time to spend here now. I can NOT believe little Elf is 4 already!! Amazing.
