Hello all, my name is Jennifer, I am from Baltimore, MD and have just recieved a mini long haired doxie! I had a short haired one when I lived at home, but now i live on my own, and my mom is taking him to Florida  i cried so hard for her not to take him, but he has an older mutt brother and i know i couldnt separate them! So my mother bought me a new puppy, (my aunt actually breeds doxies, ive grown up with them), his name is Ace, I call him my angel baby hehe, but i am worried about his coat. I have never had a long haired dog and i want to groom him myself. His hair is still short im trying to get all the info i can before it gets looonnggg!! Thanks !

Hi. What a sweetheart it looks like you have there. I, too, have a shorthair, so I can't help much with grooming. What I can tell you though, is to post again in the General Writings section and just see how fast you get a response. Sometimes the others may not check the new members site each time they log on, but they usually check the general writings area. You are sure to get some great advice and we DO LOVE pictures. You will get to know these people and their furbabies as if they are your neighbors and best friends!
By the way, my name is Teresa. I live in S.C. and have a 2 year old red smooth mini named Schatzi and a bulldog named Molly. I also have an almost 21 year old daughter named Meghan and a firefighter husband. Can't wait to hear more about you.
