I am such a bad Mom I haven't even had time to get Hallie's birfday pics off the camera. But here is one she got from a certain pair of Texas girls...hint-a certain black and tan longhair and red wireheair pair of Texas girls! Hallie (and I) had a ball on her birth-week, it just kept goin' on and on.

My art has been hoppin' lately I can't quite soak it all in, this year so far I've won a national competition and got on the cover of a magazine (over 400+ entries), got 2nd in another one over 200 entries and got into a book, got onto the cover of the Andalusian Horse National program, won People's Choice at the Emerald Downs race track annual art show, same painting won People's Choice at the SWW Arts with 143 votes, plus 1st and another of mine won 2nd and third as well, just yesterday go word that the little raccoon painting I did won 3rd at the State Fair over 200 entries and another painting I did won Best in Show over all! I don't know the numbers for this year yet but last year they had 957 entries with 679 being juried in. So Hallie and I will be going to the Awards Ceremonies on Sept 4.

And my biggest win yet, with another painting won a national competition out of more than 1,600 other paintings! I still can't believe that and keep waiting for the call that they made a mistake lol.

Thanks Barb, Chloe has taught Ilsa the fine art of shopping very well!  Gretch had a vote in it too though I'm sure!

The book is called Ex Art Equinus and the magazine is Horses in Art, summer issue. I am not sure if it is still on the stands or if they have the fall issue out now. The coolest part is I snuck in a picture of Hallie into the interview so she's in the magazine too! Here it is on their web site though.

All awards are well deserved.  That cover for "Horses in Art" is just so beautiful.  You are a wonderful artist.

As everyone has said here...you deserve all those awards. As for the bow...Ilsa and Chloe Marie picked it out and Gretchie gave her paw of approval when we got home. I wonder how it would look as a bow-tie? I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Delia and I were talking about that bow in chat - say, DD - when are you going to hit the chat room again?  It seems like furever!
Hallie would look cute no matter where she wears that bow!  Yes, you do definitely deserve your awards - all these weinerwritings people can't be wrong!  I have to get Brekke's photos on cd - I think I shorted out the printer/scanner/copier/fax that has a slot for my mm chip, so I will have to load and upload them from the cd method.   :scratch:

ITA with everyone here.  You are the best and deserve the best.  Loved the cover it was absolutely beautiful.  Hallie looks not too happy with the bow.  It just maybe the pic who knows.
