Dad gots offered a job der.  I don't know if I wanna go to da beech.  Salt water makes my eyes hurt.  And stinky baby dog can't swim.  Hmmmmmmmm
Doxies are like Lays Potato Chips....no one should have just one!

I have never been there, but have heard good things from others.  I went on business trips to Norfolk and just loved the area.  Good Luck with a difficult decision.

I know a few people who have lived there and always hear great things. You would love the weather. Only an occasional snow, and beautiful falls.  It could be an exciting move.

Actually, because you're on the ocean, you get almost NO snow.  Ice storms, if anything.  It is a beautiful area and you are convenient to lots of camping, hill country, Florida and Myrtle Beach, Washington D.C. and points north.

Leaving Wisconsin?  Remember to pack your cheeseheads!

I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

The Hampton Roads area is really nice (Norfolk, Newport News, VA beach).   Our band played there earlier this year...our first trip to Norfolk.   It was a pleasant surprise.   During the summers, you'll learn the definition of "humidity".

Besides, we could have a chocolate/tan dachshund summit with Zora and Kirby.

We love it!  At the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay with some of the best fishing.  Not too far from Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown with museums and great places to shop.  Close to the North Carolina coast with all it's great ligthouses and you can still drive on the beach with your 4x4:)   And, if you like mountains you can drive a little bit West and hit the Shenandoah Mountains and Civil War Battlefields.  The weather is moderate compared to other parts of the country!  What's not to like!  Summertime tourists!  The other 9 months are great!
