I was clearing the hard drive off my old computer and found this little nugget that I posted on the original WW board some years ago.   It was definitely based on Rudy's exploits.   To be honest, I thought I lost this little poem.   I thought I'd share this with everyone:

For the love of a dachsie, what would you do?
Could you smile after he's ruined your shoe?

Or could you open your heart, and share with him your bed?
Only in the morning to find him mounting your head?

For the love of a dachsie, could you keep from being rash?
When you come home and find he's gotten into the trash?

Or could you just grin at the big hole in your couch?
Or when you feel those sharp teeth, which make you want to say Ouch?

For the love of a dachsie, would you take him to the park?
Only to be embarassed by how much he'd bark!

Or when you pet him, down low you would stoop,
Just to find out, he's been eating his poop?

I'd do all those things, they would not be a chore,
For dachsies make life worth living, and so much more

Oh David, this is so cute and so true.  Thanks for sharing with us.

What a great poem (especially since I'm reading it as Miss Barkey comes into the house). The second part does make me happy I have a little girl instead of a little boy!
I'm so glad you found it again. I'm sure the memories it brought back were wonderful.
