Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

I'm glad you came through the storms ok.  It was quite a light(ning) show.  My electricity went out at 7:30 last night and is still out.  My 4-legged alarm clock got me up at 5 am (15 minutes early) and I showered by candlelight.  As we had no electricity I grabbed my hamburger and chicken I bought last night out of the fridge to bring into work to keep cold.   Ooooops, guess who's work is without full electricity.....

I came in an hour early and found the the building is running off an emergency generator due to the storms.  I alerted my boss and he brought in a small generator he had at home so we could keep the 5 freezers working and try to boot up the company server.  We have no air conditioning in the building and only a few of the outlooks are working and those are only at 70W instead 120W.   The electric company's standard response is repair complete within 3 days.  Hopefully it won't be that long.  Hmmmmm, I think the power just came back on.
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Our tornado sirens went off at 11:00pm so Whitney & I went to the basement and stayed there until the winds died down. When you have satillite TV it goes out for all storms!! Our electric didn't go out as it did for over 45000 customers in the next town!!  Husband works nights so I had to fair on my own. Scarey<<>>

Goodness!  I'm glad everyone is all right.  Sounds very scary.  Give me an earthquake anyday.  No tornados here.

Having grown up in Santa Monica, I totally agree!!  Earthquakes are equal opportunity disasters; we all shake and quake and rattle together.

Tornados are capricious whims of G-d.  Your house could be flattened and the neighbor next door come through without a blade of grass out of place!  And with MY luck, I'd be blown into a tree!

Glad you all made it though the storms, never figured out why Oklahoma has allot of Tornado's but almost no one has basements no hidy hole at my house.
A nurses aide I use to work with we worked 11-7 shift she got up went out to get her newspaper she lived in apartments next thing she knew was several weeks later. She had been picked up in a tornado was found at Harvey Young airport she died several times and they brought her back, she had to have a metal plate put in her head she was out of work for about a year. Way back then she could not get on disability you would think being picked up by a tornado would qualify you for some help.???? She told me during one of the times she died she saw a peaceful light she almost went into the light she said it was so peaceful. She came back later some years later her daughter had Grandbabies she never thought she could have kids so guess that is why she was allowed back to be with her daughter & Grandbabies. She has since passed away, she was quite a few years old than I.
