Happy Gotcha Day to my sweet Princess Brandy !

Four years ago today, Brandy joined our family.  A timid little girl she was - I found her through Central Texas Dachshund Rescue.  She had been turned in to rescue by a breeder after she almost died with her last litter of pups.  She was 5 yrs old when we got her and she had had 4 or 5 litters of pups.  We were the lucky ones !!!!  She is such a little cuddler and lover.....she loves giving kissies and she LOVES pillows !!!!  She is so funny with Rudy, when they each have a chew stick and she decides she wants his, she barks a couple times and he relinquishes (sp?) his chew to her.......she has him trained - he doesn't want to listen to her yapping !!!!  When she does this and I tell her to hush, she turns her head and won't look at me....and continues to bark.....funny little grlllllll.....

What a pretty girl, and what a lucky mama...... Brandy you keep on telling Rudy who's boss!

Barb, Bridget loves to get inside pillow cases too, or pillow shams or anything having anything to do with pillows. But be extra careful.  This summer Miss Bridget got into one of my pillow shams and while burrowing into the pillow, ripped the cover and tried to burrow into the filling.  She ended up getting wrapped up so tight in the pillow ticking that she was choking herself.  I walked in from work and she was frantic.  My daughter was still sleeping downstairs and didn't hear a thing.  No more pillows for Bridg!!!

Wow - thanks for the info.  Brandy's day bed is a regular pillow, with a flannel pillow case.  I will check to make sure the pillow isn't  worn.  She doesn't dig a lot - just goes in head first and turns around.  Poor Bridget - I bet she was so scared.

Happy Gotcha Day Princess! I love hearing stories like hers. To think of all those dogs in kennels or puppy mills or even in so many homes that dont appreciate them and neglect or abuse them because they see them as animals...when they each have such a special soul and funny little personalities like Brandy. That is hilarious that she will turn her head but still bark. "If I dont' see Mom she can't see me and won't know I'm barking". LOL. I will always remember the story of how Rudy went and got a chewy for Brandy and brought it to her when she first came. What a sweet brudder he is.
