Having breakfast in the backyard and watching your doxie discover what it is like to run freely, chase the birds, and sniff every little thing she wants. What a blast!!

Now, if only she would remember to pee while she was out there and not get distracted. Typical doxie: Go to nice grassy area in the yard, start to squat, see a bird or butterfly, CHARGE!, go in a completely different direction, totally forgetting that at one point she was going to pee.

If Molly is with her, she's great. But Molly only has to go about half as many times as Schatzi. Hopefully she will get a little better at this. She isn't too bad, just frustrating sometimes. Still, it's worth it too watch her run and have fun.

Kelly

Hey Teresa, Kelly here in Illinois:Schatzi isn't the only one to get distracted when needing to do a job outside! All of ours get distracted one way or the other. While I'm sending this I would like to wish you and you family Good Luck in your new home!

Teresa

Thank you Kelly. We are almost done. I've got to go tomorrow and clean up the other place and pick up a very few last things. I was going to go back this afternoon after we unloaded the truck of boxes, but it was too dang hot to go back over there. With the doors open all afternoon, it was stifling. Tomorrow the A/C will have had a chance to cool it down again. A good friend of mine came over tonight and we emptied the boxes in the kitchen and got the living room straightened out. Now it's beginning to feel like a home.

Schatzi is four years old, but has always lived in a condo. Because of that, she has been paper trained and has just been outside to do her business when on a leash. That is one reason she has so many distractions right now. Tonight she got to try the doggie door for the first time. I think she'll get the hang of it pretty fast. She has not problem at all if one of us is holding the flap up!

That is so cool! I can imagine them both running in the backyard. Oh, yeah...they'll get the hang of the doggie door in no time!
