"Culligan Man!!"

I, Porky Pie, have learned many fings since moving in with my hoograndparents and unka Ty.   One fing my weiner cousin, Bandit, has taught me is when you hear someone yell "Culligan Man!!"   Dis is da time for gweat excitement and fun!!  :crazyeyes:  Makes me crazy just finking about it!!    As soon as Bandit hears does words he runs up his ramp, onto da couch, and looks out da window.  Den we wait.  If we see da guy move in da van, we can RUN!!!  Dat means he's coming to our house next.   

Da next step (if da guy moves in da van)   is Bandit runs off da couch and tries to get away from hoogwandma and my mama.  Dis is funny to watch, beweive me!   While dey are busy chasing him, I get so 'cited I start doing my "happy dog laps".  Dats where I run fast as I can down da hall, turn around, back da odder way, into da living room, across da slippy fwoor in da kitchen, slide so I don't hit da wall, turn and run back frew da livin room and down da hall.   I do dis till....1. I get tired or dizzy, 2. Da mama starts to chase me.   It's real funny to stop right in fwont of my mama when she running.    You should see her face!!    

Den Finawy, dey catch us and we hear dis..."knock, knock, knock"  And, we're off again!!    :meme:  Den da guy knocks again and says, "Culligan Man!"  real loud.  Den we finawy let da mama and and my hoogwandma catch us and put us on our leashes.   Bandit is naughty to da man so he has to stay behind da gate, but I get to trot out like a champ.     

After da man leaves, and if we 'haved nicely while he was here (dat means no barking, and no growling) we get wewarded wif a tweat and a walk!!   :apls: Mama sez she wishes she had a video camera, cause da video of da "Culligan Man!" days could make us movie stars on youtube!

Oh how funny.  You really should video tape that if you have a video camera.  I for one would love to see it.

LOL Roberta..... Culligan is a water softening and filtration company.  Years ago there was a commercial on TV where the "Culligan Man" would ring the doorbell and yell...Culligan Man....or something like that.  I remember the phrase but not much of the commercial.  It is one of those Pop Culture trivia questions these days I suspect.

Yes, Roberta, The Culligan Man comes to our house to maintain our reverse osmosis water filtration system in our house.   He does exactly what Teri says, rings the doorbell and says "Culligan Man!"   Our dogs think this is the best excitement ever!!       I really wish I had a camera.  Unfortunately I don't.  I guess you'll just have to picture it in your imagination.     I really wish i could share it with you, it really is hilarious!!

Gee, Merion didn't post the adventure we had as kids. Admittedly neither of our dogs were doxies!! Both had beagle mothers, but one looked like a mini black lab and the other pretty much like a very small cocker spaniel. 

Anyway, we had culligan, and that was in the old days when people did not always lock their doors!!   We had gone shopping and as we got home and went in to the house, the culligan guy comes tromping up the basement steps.  He comments, "Boy, I sure am glad you have those dogs shut up! They sound really vicious!!"  We all looked at each other, and said "did you shut them up".  Everyone said "no!" and the barking and growling started again. Then we looked and there our brave little guard dogs were!!! They knew what was critical to guard!!! They were both UNDER the DINING TABLE!!!   Now if that guy had tried to steal the butter dish(usually on the table) or mother's glass of ice tea, that guy woulda been in big trouble!!     NEITHER of them put one foot past the end of the table!!  For some reason the Culligan guy had this funny look on his face as he left the house!!!!   Mind you if he had even glanced to the right when he came in the door he would have seen them both hiding under the table barking their heads off!!

   I'm sure if they really had to confront the Culligan man, Porky and Bandit would hide too.  That's a really cute story!!
