How about that? Dogfacedboy, Conrad and I will be heading south to East Texas! We will be about 120 miles from Dallas. For the first time in over a decade, I will live in the same state as relatives - actually, we will be about 30 minutes from my aunt and uncle (Barb - you met them at Canton and at my wedding).

DFB will be moving down at the end of May - we bought a house down there, and he will go down for closing on th 21st and stay to start his new job. I'll be staying up here until our house sells (hopefully, that won't take too, too long).

OMG - Clarese - that is GREAT !!!!  What town?  And where is DFB working?  How fun !!!  We will have to coordinate with Delia and plan something !!!

Keeping good thoughts that your house up there sells fast !!!   So what are your plans when you move down? (workwise) - or are you going to be a housewife ?!?!?!?

We are moving to Longview. DFB will be working for a cardiology practice out there.

While I won't be a housewife (man, I'd go nuts!!), I am actually planning on going back to school. There are not a lot of work oportunities for a researcher with a social sciences PhD in that area. I am looking into going to nursing school.

Congratuations!!!  I hope everything goes smoothly for the move.  A friend of mine's parents live in Gladwater, about 15 miles west of Longview.

East Texas might be a culture shock depending on where you are coming from. I live in Texas, and well, East Texas can be "different". It's really pretty there though.

Oh. I'm sure it will be a huge culture shock for me. I'm a California girl living in Maryland. BUT, I lived in Kentucky for 5 years during graduate school. I figure that will cut down on the shock for me :)

(Seriously, the Hill Country of Texas is beautiful - if you are able to get out on the week-ends - lots of little towns to go to with Bed and Breakfasts......)

Wow! That will be a big change for you! But exciting times...and back to school! That's great.
So are Denise and Fin still near you in Maryland? Will the brudders still get to visit sometimes? How are both boys doing?
Keep us posted on your move, etc!

Now, don' jinx it!  Darcel and I have missed each other in Knoxville oh, maybe seven times that I've driven to Tennessee to see my son.

Darcel  gets to stand by Interstate 81 and just wave.  .  .
