On April 1, 1998, the Weiner Writings board came into existence.   We've moved the site around a few times, but if it wasn't for Chris Mak and the original Dachshund Circus, this site would have never existed.   We joined up in September '98.   Can't believe it's been 10 years already.

When we joined, Rudy was 6, Max was 9 and we weren't sure how old Rusty was.   All have since gone onto the Bridge, with Max living a very long 17 years, 7 months.  Now we have Zeke and Zora, who are about the same age Rudy was when we first joined on.

Wow, 10 years!  Happy Birthday, Wiener Writings! :occasion14:

This board has been a blessing to me and to Chilie.  We joined back in 2003 right after Chilie suffered a back problem.  The support and comfort I received here was incredible.  I have met so many wonderful people on this board, I don't know where I'd be without all of your rays and prayers and great advice.  Thanks to all who have kept the board going all these years! :thumb:

Happy Anniversary WW! I've been a part of it since 2003 or 2004! I'm like Beth I too am glad that I found it!
I've met some nice people on here!

I was trying to remember when I joined, but I'm glad I did. Happy 10th to us all.

I joined the board in January 2004, when Schatzi was a tiny little 8 week old puppy. The best thing I've ever done is find this group of people. The type of advice and support given here can't be found anywhere else. I have no doubt that Weiner Writings will be around for many more years.

Happy Barkday, Wiener Writings!  I am happy to say that I signed the guestbook back in January 2000, and it was possibly my comment about, "You mean there are other kinds of dogs?"  that prompted Patty to send me an invitation to join the chat, and I've been hooked ever since!

I have met Patty, DD, Jill, Noel, Sandi & Mark, Maria and Mark, Delia & Ron, Amy, Nikki, Gail, Chrissie & hubby, Barb, Mike, and talked to Marcia and Yamisi on the phone - plus my anam cara (soul sister in Gaelic), Nikki - a lot!  I have exchanged gifts with many, been in on 4 treat boxes and started one, stayed in Delia & Ron's home (on that great guest room bed!), stayed in Nikki's home - also a great guest room bed, and enjoyed sending/getting Christmas cards (sorry I was a slacker this past year - I'll do better as I get my life back - hubby picked up his possessions today and was served with my intention to get an annulment papers), and generally laughing, crying, feeling joy, sadness, excitement, and puzzling over some of the latest dachsie antics with all of you!

I think I know two little dachsies who will get scrambled eggies in belated celebration!   :bravo:   :occasion13:

November 2000 for us.  Congratulations to all who have kept the Dachsie spirit moving forward.  (and remembering the days  when we would get visitors in the Saturday chat looking for another sort of doxie!!!!)

Congratulations!  I love this board and have missed it!

WOW! Ten years?  I lurked in 2000 in preparation for getting Zuzu and then "joined up" so to speak in March of 2001.  You guys have been so helpful and thoughtful and gave great suggestions for raising my little girl.  I can't thank you all enough.  Anyone who wants to raise a doxie puppy should come here and get it right.  Zuzu is still a calm, confident, obdidient furball.  Loki, well, Loki is Loki.

We still work on our training and the "wait" command is starting to pay off in other areas.  They are gradully getting better at not kicking up such a fuss when DH comes home, and now come in the house when called 85% of the time.

It's been my pleasure to share in everyone's triumphs and we have all shared tears over injuries, scares, and hurties.  Many a pup has gone lovingly to the bridge with all of our rays and prayers....

And of course, who can forget all the laughs we have had! (When I threw up on my shoes while picking up Zu-do who did I tell?  Doxie lovers!) And the fun we had with doggie Haiku?  That list is still floating around somehere.  OH!  I think it was Sam and Eddie who sed to King Sol:  "You have many jobs, let us count dem."  DH and still toss that line around.  King Sol, where are you--we miss you???  Too busy tectin' mom at werk? Hunting chippies? (a chippy is anything smaller than me that is not a bunny.) and of course the special rule: "NO CUTTIN' THE GREENINES in HAF!"  ha ha  I wish I could rememeber more fun stuff. I invite you all to write in about your favorite funny weiner writing.  There have been a pile of 'em!

Oh, look at me, going on and on...  XOXOXOXOXO to you all!  Happy Tenth Anniversary Weiner Writings!

We joined up around 1999 I think.  We really got involved at the DC Bow-Wow at Frederick. MD in June of that year.  On the Dachshund Circus web page there are photos of the bow-wow events and  participants.  There are some great shots of the C's, and one can see the Pold-Angel in the lineup.  Here's the link:  www.dachshundcircus.com/99bw.htm.  That was a great time.  I can't believe it's been 10 years.  Theres been a lot of laughter and some heartaches that the board has helped heal.  Here's to another several decades! :occasion14:

I found the board when Buelah was ten weeks old! Would have been around November 2003 I believe! She had just come home with us and I was online researching Dachsies.  What a wealth of information everyone here was and still is!  Thanks to all of you and Happy Birthday WW!

I joined the board in Feb of 2002. I lurked a lot on the old board trying to gather information on how to deal with my rambunctious puppy! I don't know what I would have done without everyone's support during Penny's back surgery! Here's to another 10 years of WW!!!

For those who are not sure when they joined THIS board, it shows the date under profile.

I have not been anywhere near as active as sister Merion has.  BUT we were both first on AOL friday nite chats since the mid 90's or earlier.  I think I started on AOL back before I had my Twinkie Angel so its way before mid 90's.  Because when I started posting I really was an Aunty just as I am again after I lost Twinkie.  For a while there was a email list that was sent out.  It has taken a while to  get weiner writings settled someplace, and I really do appreciate having a place like this, even though at times I don't post a lot.

I am hoping to escape dial up before too long and get hooked up with high speed internet.   Since most people have advanced from dialup, often when trying to download fixes, updated versions it takes forever, if my computer does not crash!!

Have to say I think doxie people in general are a really great bunch of people!!  Caring for others, relating, helping, celebrating and grieving with others.

I sure am glad this place is here.
Am grateful also Chris Mak has not taken down her site, even though some of it is really old, it has the "flavor" of the group!!
