My patch is warm!

Mom finally made it to the post office and there was a package from Aunt Roberta and Oliver and Amy, clear from Australia! I LOVE my new coat, and it's very cool to think that Roberta made it and that wee Amy wore it before me! I can smell her and Oliver on it. It fits me perfectly and it has just the right amount of play in it.

Thank you SO MUCH Roberta I wasn't sure what the coat would look like, this is absolutely perfect. It fits her to a T. I love the paw print pattern and colors too. Hallie loves it, she went and laid on it when I set it on the floor and when I put it on her, and tell her how pretty she is, she squints her eyes almost shut and gets a little smile on her face. Today is cold and rainy and we are going to "Grandmas" for movie and dinner (I take her somewhere every day to help her with boredom so that is our outing today) so she will be wearing it and keeping her patch warm and dry. You can tell when she goes out to potty here on rainy days that it bothers her when the rain hits that bare skin. Thank you again so much that was so nice of you and the kids and we will be making good use of it!

She kind of looks haggard to me in her photos since this happened to her, I don't notice is so much in real life. I think it might be that I haven't wanted to bother her with a bath yet (and she had one at the first clinic) so her hair is flatter than normal which makes her look a bit scrawny, usually she is fresh from the bath with hair dried fluffier hair when I do shots like this with her.

Great coat & a great Miss Halie maybe a warm bath and a very light massage would be just the ticket for her if she is use to having baths and being beautified she may miss it of course it depends on what the vet says about a bathing her.The coat is great looking on her sure looks like it fits well.

Glad it got there, its not one of the bestest looking, but its warm. Yes she looks a bit thin in the face, but hey a good spa and whiz does a lot for a girl. I had washed it but the pair rolled and lay on it, but hey it makes it interesting.
Amy just looked cold witha bare back, plus the polar tech folds with them and is not stiff.

A coat that's long enough to fit a doxie body!!! How cool is that?! Roberta, you did a great job! And, well...the model is simply gorgeous! I bet it was fun watching Hallie sniffing it. She must have had a party! I don't think she looks haggard at all. Her hair is flatter, that's all. Actually, after what she's been through, I think she looks great!

Is her fur growing back fairly well DeeDee? I seem to remember Penny's fur growing pretty quickly after her surgery....
I hope that it grows quickly because it can't be a lot of fun to have a chilly patch on your back!

We had a really nice evening at Grandmas last night I thought she'd be wiped today but she has been bugging me all day (I love it! Means she feels good.) So we are going to go do some shopping errands in a bit here to get her out. She is barking at me from the kitchen as I type, Mom come now!!!

Hmmm...not really Terri, LOL. I figure at this rate it will be 2011 before she gets her hair back in! It's been over a month and it still pretty much looks freshly shaved....I don't know why they have to make it so big. but there is enough for a combover as seen in pic #2 :thumb:

Pabouv I will probably bathe her soon she doesn't need one as we haven't been walking so she doesn't get dirty. She doesn't love baths but will tolerate them and is good. She can have one anytime as there is no incision or stitches just the darn shaved spot.

You are right Teresa, she really is looking/acting much more like herself. She doesn't seem to have any pain at all now, and is rarin' to go and being silly again, although I'm still keeping her activity toned way down for another week and a half or so before we start working our way back to our daily walks. But she does seem to feel like her old self again!! :thumb: It really is wonderful to see.
