Sunday Morning....

I had some errands to run on Sunday morning and was gone for about two hours.  I decided to let Toby stay out of the crate with Buelah and Oscy (which I've started to do for short periods of time).  I usually shut the bedrooms and bathroom which gives them run of the living room, kitchen, dining area and back yard. 
Evidently I did not close the bedroom door and the three of them decided to raid my closet.  Oh yes! Mama's closet! Where there are SHOES! Which are the next best thing to toys with squeekers!  Let the fun begin!  In the course of a little less than two hours the three little darlings (I think) chewed up eight pair of shoes.  Actually, that is incorrect.  They chewed up eight shoes...one shoe from each pair. 
I came through the gate and immediately saw the first victim....a lovely open toed black sling back.   Oh yes...the devastation was truely impressive.  As I continued into the house I noticed small pieces of various colored leather scattered here and there.  Yep...straps, buckles, heels, EVERYWHERE! 
Of course all three just looked at me with the big innocent eyes!     I strongly suspect Buelah as the ring leader in the destruction as she has done this in the past (although certainly not to this extent).  Unfortunately without DNA testing I shall never really know.  Guess I'll double check that closet door from now on.

OMG - sorry but I had to giggle..... :crazyeyes:...I can just see the trio sneaking in there and then having a ball.......dang - that is a lot of ruined shoes.......sounds like a shopping spree is in order.....watch for the sales !!!

This reminds me of the family poodle when I was growing up.  She had a shoe fetish and she was finally given her own pink slipper (with a hard heel!!!!).  She about knocked herself out on numerous occaisions shaking that slipper and bopping herself on the head.

Next time (and there WILL be a next time for a shoe fetishist), try smelling their breath?

Terri - that is so funny!  It sounds like they worked together as a team!  It is a great excuse to go shoe shopping.  I am glad to hear that Toby is feeling better and better every day.

Oh Terri, I was so sorry to read this post!!  I don't know about you, but my shoes are my life!!  They are like....  I don't know what, but I do know I love my shoes!!!  You know that shoe commercial where the girl is stuffing all her shoes in her closet and they break through the brick outer wall and fall to the street???  Well, my husband swears that's me!!  LOL!!  I sure hope you are able to replace them all (though I'm sure some are from years ago - just too comfy to discard)....  Did those poor hoodlums run to their crates when you walked through the door or were they caught red handed (chewing in progress)?? 
Well, it looks like your weekend was as expensive as mine!!  I had to run Daisy Mae to the emergency vet yesterday (of course she would be the drama queen and get sick on a sunday when the vet isn't open).  She actually woke up throwing up (what looked like blood - not dark red, but a medium red colored liquid)....  Scared the #$@& out of me....  The vet took her temp (it was slightly above normal) and two x-rays and found nothing but a bloated tummy and intestines (she must have eaten something - I do know that she got into the bathroom garbage the night before because I found a shredded kleenex, with god knows what on it, under our end table).  So $294.00 later she was ready to go home (she had liquids under her skin, 2 med shots and the x-rays - and we can't forget the initial $92 just to walk through the door) and is now on a icky, bland diet (some Hills I/D prescription food)..  The vomitting stopped (thank god) and she is doing better .  I'll tell you, the things we do for our babies!!!  Kinda makes me think if this was a repeat of last weekend when she was throwing up and I thought it was just stress from Bailey being gone???  Now I'm thinking....  Maybe it wasn't and was something more??
