Dear Dee Dee,
I know that you are probably exhausted and devastated.  Please do not give up! Both you and Hallie can get through this.  Just because the Dr said it is a permanent condition, does not mean it isn't treatable.  The good thing is now you know what you are dealing with.
I truly and deeply feel for you and understand what its like to be dealt with such a blow. Please do not underestimate the strength of a dachshund........they are born fighters!   When we found out Franky had cancer (less than a year after IVDD surgery) I was a wreck and actually started losing my hair.  But we persisted with treatment, and he beat the devil and is as spry as a puppy again.
You have a HUGE international "family" here that will stand by your side and help you through this.
Sending lots of rays and positive energy to you both from Pennsylvania.

Sounds like you both need to rest and try and call this doctor tell him you need the name of the condition Hallie has so you can make informed decisions that will affect both of the rest of your life's.Sometime western doctors do not know everything sometimes the eastern doctors know this also that might help better.? Just a thought know your head must be spinning if you can step back and look at the problem from all sides does that Doger List anyone there know what might be going on with Miss Hallies back. Some times when I know nothing I just google what I do know sorta like a stab in the dark at it and sometimes I come up with interesting reads about things. Sending Hugs, Prayers and Good Thoughts your way for you and Miss Hallie.

Oh No! I was so hoping from better news. You must be exhausted! Is there any possibility for a second opinion from a neurologist that might have more experience with her condition? Please don't lose your faith. We are here for you and anything you need just ask.

It sounds like what we experienced with Penny is probably a different condition - her spinal cord was inflamed because her immune system was attacking it (inflammatory  focal myelitis). Regardless, I'll post a link with more information just in case. Within this post WW Post about Penny there is information at her condition. Please let me know if i can help you in any way.

Dee Dee, oh my dear friend!  I've missed some days stopping in and now I see this.  I'm heartbroken.  One thing though.  DON'T GIVE UP!  Give the treatment a chance and just let Hallie rest.  I know you must be going freakin' crazy but STAY STRONG for her.  Praying with all my heart and soul for our lovely Hallie and for you.  Remember.....DON'T GIVE UP!

You might want to check into VOM it has helped a lot of puppers-not sure if it would help her condition but you can do a search. More prayers    for her.
