Those silly boys

Yep we live in MI where you never know what to expect from the weather. Last week we had a return to Summer and this week it turned cold. One morning the weather was so so and I didn't have to work so I decided to spend a couple hours outside cleaning the garden with the help of Sam & Eddie. Eddie loves being outside, but Sam would rather be in the house under the blankie and will only tolerate fresh air for about 45 minutes. Well, I was just finishing up chopping down some small bushes when I heard a familiar sound - the sound of Sam banging on the back screen door asking to come in. I told Sam that if he would give me 5 minutes we would go in. No sooner had I started to head for the house Sam began banging on the door again, he turned saw me coming and banged louder. I knew the cats wouldn't let him in, but it was so cute and funny to see him asking to be let in, knowing mom was the only one able to do it, but she was busy.

Now Eddie is another story - he will do anything to aggravate the cats. This morning Cleo was on the window above the bed and Eddie saw her. He started to yelp at her to get down with a plan to corner her. Well, he start to back her into his crate with the intent of locking her in. Cleo however is smarter and took a flying leap over Eddie and was out of the room before poor Eddie knew what hit him. Silly boy, but they make my day.

Our cat Suzy always knew how to outsmart the doxies and get away. Her brother Sam loved to toy with the doxies. He would make Willy so mad by sleeping in Willy's bed. That irritated Willy to no end.

Doxies are pretty smart about being let in and out. I love the way mine will scratch on the door and then look at me like "I want out human!"

Max will stand by the sliding glass door when he wants out. Sometimes (undoubtedly due to either senility or dimentia), he will go right back to the door right after we let him back in.

When Max belonged to his original owners, he lived with three cats. Two of the three he immediately bossed around, however one of them, (the smallest one, too), would stand her ground. She would either pummel him with her front paws (she was declawed), or roll over onto her back. When Max would go for the jugular, she would kick him with her back paws, which were not declawed.

They eventually learned to get along, and would even groom each other from time to time. When the owners daughter developed asthma, all three cats and Max were split up. I ended up with Max, and undoubtedly, he is the only one still alive.

LOL I can just see this whole thing taking place. Your boys are something else. Can't you just see the kitties inside, "neener neener"-ing Sam at the door!

George loves the cat, Grace doesn't care to much either way! Mine are funny when they stalk the caged chinchilla's! George and the cat (Fluffy) are best buddies as you can tell from this picture!

HA !!! Come on mom......your 'posed to be at their beck and call - HA ! Isn't it funny how their personalities are so different? I love nothing more than just hanging out with my kids....they are so much fun !!!

I have to tell ya David, it isn't Max being senile-he's a DOXIE!

Dottie learned from the beginning that if we shut the door
(we had a sliding door then) to look at us as if we'd lost
our minds so we'd leave it open for her!!!
Dot's mind : Who cares about the heat, cold or flies, I want to be
able to go out at the first sign of needed patrol barking!!

Now we have doggie doors! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course they still want the wood door open to use
the one in the screen door eventhough they can go out
of the garage door 10 feet away! Gotta love 'em!! ;-)
