My mom is having a thyroid test

Long story short, my mom had a blood test about a month ago.  The test came out fine, yet her doctor wanted to have her get an ultrasound of her thyroid anyway.   She went ahead and did the ultrasound and they found multiple lumps on her thyroid.  They told her they aren't concerned because if there is more than one lump it is usually normal.       

Anyway...now they want to do another test on the 6th to check her thyroid yet again.  For this test she can't have any salt, chocolate, etc...for the next two weeks!   Basically any kind of food you can think of eating she can't until after the test.       If anyone could spare some extra rays that would be really great.  I'll keep you posted as I find out more.

I just had another sonogram done, as I have little nodules on my thyroid that they have been keeping an eye on for a couple of years.  No biggie.  And if they have to come out, its supposed to be an easy procedure.  I am not concerned.  I wish the best for your mom and hope its nothing serious.
