Puppy Love

I shot this picture of my niece last night giving (or getting) a kiss from their family's new puppy. She isn't always sure she likes the puppy, but only because she is a little jealous of the attention it gets! Otherwise, it is okay for it to be around. My 10 year old niece is thrilled with this new addition. She is the one who has been wanting the pup for quite awhile and is at the right age to be responsible for it. So far, so good!

The puppy is adorable, even if he isn't a dachshund. He is a shih-tzu and schnauzer mix. He doesn't have a lot of schnauzer in him, his mom was a mix like him, but his dad was full shih-tzu. I hope he will have a little bit of the shorter fur of the schnauzer. My niece is getting up religiously and taking him out each morning and doing so each time he needs to go out during the times she is home from school.

Beautiful little girl and the puppy is soooo cute   I am glad your ten year old niece is being responsible.  The girls and the puppy should have a wonderful "childhood" together
