has now been established!  We had our first Meet up today at a doggy park close by the house.  There were about 13 long dogs there with their hoomans.  Let's see, we first met Bubba and Sweet Pea.  Sweet Pea immediately jumped on Maddie in a playful way.  Miss Roo was not amused.  Then we met Stretch and Sparky, Max (a Brekke look alike, and he liked to bark too!) and Hans, who was the Senior Weiner of the group at age 11.  There was Chloe, a pretty piebald grrrrl and her sissy Greta. Ziggy was a handsome boy. Molly was the sweetest dapple.  She was the youngest at 7 months and she looked A LOT like Misty!  Other dachsies showed up, but I can't remember their names.  We even had an honorary dachsie, a Corgi named Bigelow.  He was sooooo sweet.

The plan is to meet up once a month.  Maybe if we do this on a regular basis, Maddie will learn to enjoy the time with the long dogs.  The one whom she seemed to like the best was Hans.  He was her speed...LOL.

What fun! I love hearing everyone's names. Did you get any pictures? Ohhh... one the color of Misty...she was the sweetest of them all!  I'll bet the more Maddie gets to know these dogs the more she will enjoy seeing them. Hallie always picks out her friends at the dog shows and races up to them with tail wagging. She will pretty much ignore the other dogs.

How were the people, was it a nice group? Did Mark go with you?

Yep, Mark was there!  Molly (the Misty twin) LOVED him!  The little stinker wouldn't give me the time of day.  The hoomans seem nice, if not a little reserved.  We met Jenna and Jeff (mom and dad to Chloe and Greta).  Jenna is a Pet Massage Therapist!  How cool is that?  I do hope that The Madderoo gets a little more sociable.  We had a very fun day.  Oh, sorry no pics.  Don't have a camera.  I should stop by and get a disposable, yes?  I'll try that for next month.

Oh Maddie, you go all out for that massage therapist! Maybe you'll get a free massage or two!  :thumb:

It really does sound like a lot of fun. I'm glad you and Mark both get to go and I'll bet Maddie will surprise you how she settles in with the group. YES we vote for a disposable camera next time, we'd love to see pictures!

I love the names, too!  For your next meeting, you need to appoint a photographer.  We want eye candy!

That sounds like so much fun! You will be amazed at how fast Maddie becomes used to these people and pups and her little world gets a little bigger. That worked wonders for Gretchen. She wouldn't be where she is now if not for that. Go, Maddie! Yes, a camera will be a must for next month. What a fun thing to look forward to each month. I wish I lived closer! It just warms the heart to see your pup milling about, having fun.

Your little Maddie would hate playing with Porky then.  He loves to greet dogs with a playful jump.     Most dogs don't take to that too well.

Sounds like your meet-up was fun!  That would be great to start a club here, but most of the people with long dogs around here are either really snooty or only associate with other show dogs.   :dontknow:  Oh Well, maybe someday.   Maybe when we buy a doxie farm, we'll have our own club.   :2funny:
