I saw this in the Orvis catalog. It's a great idea and it's half price, but still pricey. Not a bad idea if your doxie wants to be close, but there just isn't enough room in the big bed. It would never work with Schatzi since she thinks she is supposed to be practically underneath me when she sleeps (I think it's her way to make sure I don't move at all during the night).

I don't know any dachshunds that would actually stay on that bed - heck I don't know any dachshund that stays on their SIDE of the big bed.

That's hilarious!!! Not sure if it would work here though- Cookie needs to dig her legs into my back to claim 75% of the bed- my DH and I share the other 25%.  :idiot:

That's pretty cool. But, I have serious doubts Porky would use it. He loves to curl up beside me and if I roll over, he gets up and climbs over me.  He always like to be on the front side of me.      Once my husband leaves for work, if we're still lucky enough to be in bed, Porky stretches out across his whole side and most of mine.

That is a cool idea !!!  And it is a dresser too !!!  Mine wouldn't stay in it either - Rudy has to curl up between my legs or behind my knees and Brandy is sandwiched to my left side.   Sometimes I wish for more room and a easier time turning over or just even climbing out of bed - but when I am out of town and they aren't there - it makes it very tough to go to sleep !!!!!

Thanks for sharing - looks like a great idea for a kid with a single bed and a big dog that they want to sleep with !!!!

What a great idea for people with a bigger dog especially. When I had my huge Dane, Fred, I am sure I would have been the one in the add on. LOL. It's great the things they keep coming up with for our puppers.

Wow, that is a great idea!!  My Sheba would stay in it but I doubt my doxies would...they are so plastered next to me that sometimes I can't even move!!

I thought it was creative for a bigger dog. I did love the steps going up to it! Loved the part about the doxie digging the legs into the back to get 75% of the bed! That's how it is here, at least between Schatzi and Molly!

Okay...I think I'm going to order it for ME.  The puppers can have the big bed  and I'll take that one.  Might work and I'd have more room that the twelve inches I am alloted by the four owners of the big bed.
