Rays for Lily, please!

Last night Lily was acting kinda down.  She was very clingy.  I attributed it to all the hurricane excitement.  Last night while we were sleeping, she moved and yelped.  I though manybe she had just gotten tangled in the covers or something.  Anyway, this morning she was moving very slowly and started to do the ear shake thing and stopped herself.  I called the vet's office and was able to get her seen.  He said that she just has the beginnings of back issues and put her on rimydal (?) and crate rest for the next 7-10 days.  He said that hopefully, that will do it.  Please keep your fingers corssed  :xfinger: and say lots of prayers  and send her some rays.  I think that here lately, I have been keeping my vet's office in business.  My baby says thanks in advance for the prayers and rays.

Poor baby....rays on the way for sweetheart Lily.......are you able to crate her during the day?  Would be the very best for her.   Rudy has had several episodes with his back.  Rimadyl doesn't help him - the prednisone does better for him.  But rest is the main thing.  Please keep us posted - smoochies for Lily.   Are things starting to come together out your way?  I know they wanted everyone to wait to come back....but......

Sounds like what happened to Sam a couple years ago.  We also caught it in time and crate rest cleared it up for him.  Rays and hugs to Lily.

Man I have missed a lot. I hope Lilly is feeling better. I still recommend Springtime's Fresh Factors and Joint Health. Rays coming and how about an update???

Lily is doing very well and responding to treatment.  The only problem I have now is keeping her from running and jumping.  She doesn't understand why she has to be still and be in the crate.  I normally have all of the puppers baby gated in the kitchen, so I put Lily's crate right up next to the baby gate, so they can see each other.  I can usually tell where the puppers spend most of their day by seeing where their blankets are.  Since Lily has been on crate rest, when I come home, all of the blankets are right next to the baby gate.  They can't be with her, but they get as close as they can to her.  I think that is so sweet. :grouphug2:

So glad Lily is improving...I feel your pain in trying to keep her still.  Once they start feeling better - your job actually gets harder.  I can just picture the trio huddled close to the baby gate.....making sure they can still sniff their sissie - that is priceless !

Nikki, haven't been on in a few days.  Hope Lily is still progressing well.  What a job you have on your hands of keeping this sweet girl still.  Hopefully she just had a little strain and will be 100% in no time.  LOTS of CA rays and Dolly & Maddie kisses coming your way!

How about an update? Rays are still coming and what are the chances of you snagging a picture of them huddling by the baby gate? You might need to set up a video camera you know that might earn $10,000. on Funny Home Videos!

If it's the ear-shake thing...they try to shake and they stop, odds are you're dealing with a pinched nerve rather than a full-fledged back problem.  The symptomology and the cures are similar, but the pinched nerve is not nearly as serious, although it can be equally painful.   Rudy went through several pinched nerve episodes the last 4 years of his life.

Once we put Rudy on Cosequin (a gluocosamine supplement), the pinched nerve episodes stopped.  It's definitely something you may want to look into.

I have put all 4 of them on a gluocosamine supplement with MSM.  I take one every day, so I figured I would try it for them.  She is doing much better.
