Kari and Drew- Are you guys OK? UPDATED

I know the fires in San Deigo are just awful and I wanted to check that you all were OK (and Penny and Tucker too!)

Are all our other SO Cal members OK? :xfinger:

Theres fires are very scary! If we were still living in the condo we lived in 1 week ago, we would have been evacuated! Scary, huh?

I think we have a pretty good sized contingent from Southern CA and the San Diego area, although some of them don't post frequently.

Hopefully, they'll be able to check in soon. I'm sure communication lines are getting loused up and posting on the WW Board probably isn't a very high priority right now.

I was worried about all of them too. It would be great to see that they are safe.

Hi All! Well...we are in Boston right now so we are getting updates from family there and keeping track on the fires online. I've talked with my mom and she knows what to get from the house if necessary. She is taking care of Penny too - she contacted our vet where tucker is and found out what their evacuation procedures are. It apparently is Armageddon there. Our area is not being evacuated yet but with no containment I'm not sure what is going to happen. Drew's parents live in Eastlake and apparently are close to being evacuated. We can only pray at this point. It is so scary not being there - Drew is starting his work today so we are just playing it by ear. I'll keep you updated as I know stuff and can get online. Thanks for your prayers and concern.

for all of our Southern California members. When watching it on TV, I just can't believe all the devastation. Horrible, horrible....very frightening.

I was online last night, looking at Kari's member map and at the fire location just to see how close they would be too it. I know that it has to be hard for them to be away right now. I hope this ends soon and everyone is safe.

Hi All! Checking in from Boston... I'm sure you have all seen the news so I won't reiterate all that but basically it is utter devastation. We have been in contact with all our family and friends. Many of them have been evacuated but as far as we know none of them have lost their homes. We are thankful that our home is out of the path of the fire. Drew is finishing work tomorrow and we have decided to stay on here in Boston as planned. There is nothing that we can do at home and our family is urging us to just stay here and enjoy our time. The smoke apparently is absolutely horrible. I'll check in as I can! Thanks for all your prayers and concern.

We talked with all our family and friends and while some of them were evacuated we don't believe anyone has lost any of their homes. So many others were not that lucky!

I was watching the news last night...........saw pictures of neighborhoods where house after house after house was lost in the fires. I can only imagine how terribly heart-breaking that would be. I don't think I'm all that materialistic but if my home burned to the ground, it would be of little consolation that it was only a house with things inside and it could be replaced. Of course my first concern if I had to evacuate would be Dan, Willy, Alex, Pepper and our horses. We actually do have a plan if that day ever comes. That plan has already included the removal of fuel close to the house.

Thats good to hear all our CAl pals are ok at present.
I know the feeling my family lived with it last summer for about 4 weeks, and they say this year is going ot be a bad one for us to.
