I did something today that I have wanted to do for a long time.  I got a SPOTBOT!  I have had a Hoover Steam Vac for years.  The Steam Vac is good for overall carpet cleaning, but isn't so hot for concentrated heavily soiled areas nor urine stains.

I couldn't wait to try it out and cleaned my first two stains with it.  I filled the tank with the Bissell Little Green Formula 8 oz. container, and the Oxy Gen @ 16 oz. container formulas that came with, adding water as directed.  Bissell recommends using the two formulas together.  The tank used almost all of both sample bottles.  Alternately, one can use the little Green Formula alone and skip the oxy Gen 2 (just increase the water) but these were my two worst stains, so I gave it everything I could.

Stain 1.  A dried urine stain that we noticed Sunday.  It's bright yellow, but it can be hard to see some stains except in daylight.  This thing stood out even at night!  I tried the Spotbot and Kevin says the stain is completely gone.  I think I see a bit of it, but won't be able to tell until bright daylight, and I might not get the chance for that until this weekend.

Stain 2.  Two years ago we had a wood floor installed in our kitchen.  The careless installer goobered our carpet with the adhesive.  He "cleaned" it with solvent, but it still left a brown stain.  I tried the Spotbot on the stain, not expecting much.  I say the stain is gone!  Kevin thinks he sees a little of it.

On the whole, the Spotbot did well on two tough set in stains.  Some stains may need a second shot to come clean.  It's very easy to use.  You fill the tank, press a button, and let it work for a few minutes, and that's pretty much it.  I have worked harder and got worse results, so I am happy that this is easy to use.  Between the two solutions, I used 24 oz. of cleaner.  Two spots emptied the cleaning tank, so it can get expensive going through all that solution.

We bought it at Sears for $99.99.  It is on sale this week, and the price is $30.00 less than it's regular $129.99 price.
