Ohhh no sad birthdays allowed! Seems the older we get the less people left to care. I had that case last year, my main core family is gone so no plans so Hallie and I went to the beach, just the two of us, and it was wonderful. Give Brekke a big hug and absorb those doxie rays and I hope you spend the rest of your birthday with a smile!

I got greetings from my mom, Mocha's mom(Brenda), the next-to-newest 2nd grade teacher, Marla, my financial planner, Princess Cruises, Carnival Cruises, my cell phone company, those of you here - and that's it. You folks lift me up - it's been the week from 4377, and yesterday was the worst birthday I've ever had. Thank you again for bringing a smile to my face. :thumb:

Thank you, Tara and Roberta! (Well, Tara, I guess I am a weird person, because I like my birthdays, usually. My family always made them my special day, and when I was growing up, I always selected my dinner menu, way ahead of time. I may have gotten more practical gifts than luxury ones - one year was a steam iron, one year was a clothes hamper, another was a Better Homes and Garden cookbook!), but it was my day. Thursday was an antithesis of all that. Well, my aunt is taking me out for my belated birthday lunch - we planned it ahead of time, because I had to work Thursday - did I mention that? We're going to Red Lobster - gotta love those Cheddar Bay Biscuits!

Happy Belated Birthday Julia! I'm so sorry you had a lousy day. If I lived closer, I would have taken you out for a great lunch. I've had those lousy birthdays in the past, too. And one year, I didn't even want to celebrate the holidays (my birthday is 5 days after Christmas), that was after Domingo died. I tried to get Dan to go see his family in CA cause I just wanted to be alone. Not to sulk and feel sorry for myself, but just to not have to deal with "the holidays." And I didn't want people around me because I "shouldn't be left alone on the holidays" type of crap after having lost Domingo. But Dan being Dan, he wouldn't think of leaving me. Anyway, I hope you know how much your friends here care about you.

Thank you, Julia and Patty! I know I shouldn't let one day affect me so much, but I have always had uplifting ones in the past. Thank goodness this week has ended better - probably says a lot for crab-stuffed sole, Chedder Bay biscuits, well-wishes, and Brekke's treat box, huh?
