And she found some that some of you have never seen - well, 'ceptin for Auntie DD, that is!  Here comes Useless (aka Lucy), the second family dawg when Momma was a teenager, Cousin Ed, Momma, Cousin Linda, and my Auntie Joyce...

and this is my momma's first dawg, my furbrudder, Fritz-Angel.  He useta chase tennis balls until he would crawl to his water dish - don't worry - Momma dudn't do that kind of stuff anymore!

and this was the very first family dachsie - the one that started it all...Johanna von Dumas - she's the little ball next to the cocker.

owned and operated by Mirrim, Lessa, and Torene, also forever by angels Friedrich, Heidi, Gretl, Siglen, Sorcha, Brekke, Rowan, Robinton, and Bastian.

That's amazing!  My mom just gave me pictures of my grandmother holding HER dachshunds - one from the 40's and another taken in the mid or late 20's  As soon as I get the scanner to scan I'll post them!  Teckel Syndrome - it's genetic!!  LOL!!

I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

Great piccys.

Our dachshund tradition was a bit more recent...dating back to November 1992 when I first purchased Rudy.  In February 2003, I adopted Max, and then after Max went to the Bridge in 2006 (Rudy preceded him the year before), the Zs came to live with us.   We had babysat for the Zs previously.   Here is a shot taken in November 2003 which shows all the members of my dachshund tradition.

Bottom to top:  Zeke, Rudy, Zora, Max

An Ode To David's Doxies:

They're coming, they're going,
They're coming, they're going. . .

Hut, two, three, four.

i don't know but I've been told. . . (repeat)
Dachshund hearts are solid gold. . . (repeat)
Sound off - One, two
Sound off - three, four
One, Two, Three, Four - let's eat!

(O.K., that not the official ending, but after all, it's marching dachshunds, not paratoopers!)
