Thanks can anyone tell if Patches still looks overweight by the pictures. I think she needs to loose another pound she has a small head but a large body but she is my first Doxie so unsure weight now at 13#was 14#. Now that I can make the pictures smaller will post more pictures.

Great pics of both of them !  Its hard to tell in a picture if a longhair is overweight - check with your vet to see what they think is her ideal weight.

I just love the longhairs. If, maybe I should say when, I have another doxie, I would love to get a longhair. How old is Rambo? He looks so playful still. Of course, Molly is 7 now and still playful. She just had a birthday on July 4. She always has those time of sudden bursts of energy, but then goes into a dead sleep right afterward with LOUD snoring!!

Great pics! I have a shorthaired who is considered a mini dach. He is 4 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Vet said that is a good weight for him. Too much weight on them can cause back problems i've heard. Although, i don't feed him alot of table/junk food either.

The kids just got him they had not made up their minds took him to see a vet reading up on the breed found out they can have allot of health problems.Of course I do not believe the part about they had not made up their minds about him, Rambo's owners said they had to find him a new home the baby human is allergic to pet dander. Rambo is 2 years old intact male has not been on heart worm medication so the kids requested a test for that at the vets not sure of the results.Rambo name subject to chance when the kids officially get him talking of naming him Diesel ? he weighs 50# looks like he is at a nice weight. Kids getting married 8/4/07 the going to Cancun for a 4 day honeymoon I asked what they were going to do with the dog they had not thought of that but looked at me. Told them before they left male Doberman's fixed or not want to fight with other male dogs Buddy is fixed but do not think he would like another male around for 4 days so not sure about it.

I'm confused. . .wait, maybe I'm not!  LOL

Rambo is the bulldog in the picture, right?  Who is the Doberman?  The bulldog isn't fixed?

Bulldogs are very susceptible to healh problems, particularly if they have the really pushed in snout that is so popular right now.  Rambo looks like he has a nice amount of nose, which means he may not overheat so easily.  Hard to say what else might be there withou knowing how inbred his family is (can you hum a few bars from "Deliverance"???)
