Mom is gonna be home with us for a whole month ----- She is having surgery on her right "paw" which is her dominant "paw" so the doctor said no work for a month!  She goes in for outpatient surgery on Thursday morning.  We'd appreciate any rays you can spare.  We're happy that she will be home with us and know what........when she goes back to work in August, she'll only have six months left to work and then she is gonna retire......at a young age of 55!  She's worked for the same agency for 34 years and she says she's tired.....Well, happy 4th of July everybody!

I had right paw, er, hand surgery last April and I'm still recovering.  Had an arthritic bone at the base of the thumb removed and a ligament rolled up like a deli roll and stuffed in the empty space!  Yum-yum!

My doctor said six months until I will be completely healed.  So far, it is healing right on schedule.

Major Rays coming next Thursday from Bawlamor!!

Good luck with your hand surgery.  I broke my wrist last December (luckily my left- I am righthanded), and wearing a cast and not being able to use one arm was very frustrating!  The fact that it is your dominant arm is going to be hard!  You have my sympathies!

Sending some healing rays your way, Dee. Your new (temporary) motto should be - 'better living through chemistry.' Unfortunately, we have lots of nerve endings in our hands for obvious reasons.  Pain pills will be your friends - remember that. I don't mean to scare you, it's just that some people try to be stoic and do without. No reason to suffer when you have something to help you over the hump - for about a week. THEN...you get to enjoy the rest of your time off with the boys!!!!!!

Ahhhh! Retirement...that sounds wonderful!!!!! You and Dave will have a blast!

Delia,  thanks for the words of wisdom and I'll remember them.  I'm so looking forward to retirement........one of the things we want to do is do some traveling and see parts of the US that we haven't seen!  Dee

Rays to you, Dee.  I hope the surgery to your paw...er...hand fixes it up real good.  I know the boys will be great recovery nurses.  Congrats on your upcoming retirement!  Woohooo!  We'll probably have to work until we're 85.

I'm sorry to hear that Dee, like Delia says rest and keep on top of the pain. The boys are going to love having Mom home no matter the reason!  :thumb: Hope you are able to type one handed and post to let us know how you are.

I was one of those stoic people Delia is referring to.   :idiot: I didn't want to take the pain medicine after I broke my wrist, and I couldn't sleep, the swelling was very painful.  I called my sister in tears who said. "Take the damn vicoden already, you are going to get stressed and not rest and make your arm heal slower!"  Well, she was right, I took the vicoden and actually slept thru the night and the swelling went back down.  So, please take the pain meds they give you.  They really do help with recovery.

That sounds like so much fun! Like the others, who knows if Ron and I will ever be able to retire. If you ever make it to Ft Worth, Tx, you have a place to stay and someone to show you around. It's hot and dry (OK, not dry lately, but usually dry) and not as pretty as your neck of the woods, but we've got some places to see.

Hey Dee (or Dave)- Whenever you can, we would love an update on how you are doing. Hope everything went great this morning and you are now enjoying the "chemistry"!

Hey, just remembr, Percoset (or oxycontin or oxy codone) causes constipation.

My doctor said take one Dulcolax tablet for every pain pill I took.  It worked VERY well.

Rays are in the air - (David just THINKS its a cloud funnel!)
