Update on our road project and subdividing

For the past few weeks we have been having a road put in on our property.  We are subdividing our 40 acres into four 10-acre lots.  When we built our house we put all our structures on one 10-acre quadrant in anticipation of this subdividing.  The road comes off the nearest Borough road and ends in the middle of our property with a cul-de-sac.  Anyway, the road is almost complete, they just need to put the top gravel on and water it down.  We had to put CAUTION tape across the road because people will not stay off of it, they're all curious.  I hope they are as curious when we put the lots up for sale.  Our area is growing up so fast, we've been meeting lots of neighbors who are building in the new neighborhood going up next to us.  One neighbor is the Director of Public Works at the Mat-Su Borough.  Wow, such a deal to have him next door.  He and his wife are wonderful, and he's helped us with our road project red tape.  The road won't get its final blessing from the Borough until the first week of August, then we can put the lots up for sale.  We already have two neighbors who border us interested, because they don't want neighbors.  Hey, if they want to buy the lots and not do anything with them, fine with me.  Last night we met a couple who are building close by.  Real nice people, and get this, he is a STATE TROOPER!  And he gets to drive his police car home and park it in his driveway.  You wouldn't believe how having a police car parked in the area deters crime.  This just keeps getting better.

Patty: I know what it's like to have a "State Police" vehicle sitting in your drive way! My brother is an Illinois State Trooper.He's been one for "21" years.

This morning they are out there with the grader and water truck.  You should see Neeki and Patches, they are so interested in everything thats going on.  I watched as they watched the BIG water truck go by.  You could just hear them saying to each other "Wow.....cool!"  Then I saw one of the big macho road builder guys come over and give Neeki and Patch some grass.  Even grown up "kids" are enthralled (sp?) by the horses.  I took lots of pictures of the road project, and I know I owe you some of the inside of the house.

Yes, we are on a 10-acre lot.  And we have a separate private driveway, we won't be coming in from the cul-de-sac.
