May I refer once again to the surgery I proposed for Katie* which would take care of that unforunate dachshund anomaly?  Gus would make a splendid smooth haired standard red dachshund (remembering, of course, that reds are actually brown, but as Gertrude Stein would say, "A rose by any other name . . .").
