Add two to the Browning clan

Melanie and I have adopted two of our fosters -- we just can't let them go. One is a beautiful basset hound named Olivia. She was pulled from a shelter in Knoxville, Tennessee. The other newcomer to our pack is Oscar, a standard red smooth doxie. Oscar was passed around from home to home because he was afraid of men. Predictably, he wound up in rescue. We didn't think we were the right home for him at first, because Oscar was timid around me. He still is to some degree, but is really blossoming. Because of that, we just don't want to send him somewhere else where he will have to start over. He deserves to find his forever home NOW. And he has that. Both Olivia and Oscar are about nine years old, and we love them to pieces.

We also have another foster in our midst. Walter is about 13 years old and the black and tan smooth boy. He was pulled from the dreary Miami Animal Control. He is just a sweet boy,though it seems blind from cataracts. His eyes are milky white with the disease. But he gets around great.

Let's see ... I'm beginning to lose count ...

There's the doxies -- Hannah, Willy, Tootsie, Willie, Heidi and now Oscar. The bassets are Lily, Isabella (Bella) and now Olivia. And the clumber spaniel, Bear. TEN in all, plus two doxie fosters, Walter and Bubba.

Here are pictures of Olivia, Oscar (the red smooth) and Walter (the black and tan smooth).  I'll try to dig up some pics of Bubba -- he's a 10 year old red dapple longhair and another sweetie.

It really warmed my heart to read about you taking Oscar in after him having so many homes.  Poor baby- I can't imagine having to get used to so many new homes.
Cookie was afraid of men when we got her, and 2 years later she is fine with my husband- it took time, but being in a loving home for a long period of time is the best cure for that!
