Hi All,

Sorry I've been missing you lately; but, work has been more than a little challenging.  I have been in the office less than 2 days this month...although I have been working!  So, this past Friday I arrived home from Germany with a bag full of Swiss chocolate for the grandkids Easter.  I put the bag up (I know better than leave it in the suitcase or down where a doxie can reach) high on a table and went to bed...exhausted. :doah:

On Sunday morning, as I am getting dressed, I hear the tell-tale rattle of aluminum foil in the hallway.  Yikes!  What did you get into...

Cocoa (trash hound extraordinaire) had climbed up on the sofa, then up on the back of the sofa, walked across the top and stretch-e-d herself out to climb on the table and find...a full package...8 oz. of Swiss Extra Dark Chocolate Bar!  Yikes, 54% Cacao!!!   :ambulance:

I called the Vet and luckily he was in the office with another emergency.  So, off we went...much to Cocoa's chagrin.  Doc Rick fixed her up...says she's his doggity with 9 lives (although we aren't sure how many are left)!

This morning's poo had a definite "tootsie roll" color this morning.  She is doing fine; but, sheese!  Thank goodness she didn't eat any more than 1 bar!  Could have been bad...very bad!

Valerie

Glad she is OK! Phew!

On Christmas Eve, Cookie found a present under the tree with Godiva chocolate in it, unwrapped it and ate the whole thing! (why do they do this on nights and weekends when the ER VET is more expensive...).  We came home to find bits of godiva box every where.
Luckily she was OK, but she definately had that tootsie roll poop the next day.

Its amazing how dogs have a nose for chocolate when they aren't even supossed to eat it!
You never know if its edible until you lick it -Cookie

Porky Pie here:
Sounds pwetty smart to me.  I lub dat stuff too.  I only got a little m&m one time, but WOW!  Dat is some good stuff.  I am gwad you didn't get sick from it though.  Too bad you had to go to da stinky vet.  Momma says she's very happy you are okay.  (I like to eat all kinds of stuff I'm not supposed to eat) hehe   SHH....DOn't tell on me.

...we must be related!  I love all things that smell good!!!  And that chocolate was worth the visit to the scarey vet!

Mom here, Cocoa is doing fine.  She had a little discomfort on Sunday afternoon; but, the vet had left us well prepared and we all made it...
