Brandy and Stormy share a birthday !!!!!!

Today is my baby girl's 11th birthday....Rich had mentioned that today is Stormy's 14th. Wishing both of these kids many birthday wishes !!! I will let Rich tell you about his Stormy and I will tell you about my sweet baby girl Brandy :thumb:

Brandy came to us when she was 5 1/2. We had had Rudy for about 8 months and wanted to get him a sibling to keep him company during the day while we were at work. I found Brandy through Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. Brandy had been used for breeding and in her first 5 years had 4-5 litters of pups. They almost lost her with the last litter and figured out she was no use anymore, so they turned her in to rescue. I am glad they did.....so I could adopt her and treat her like the Princess that she is !!! I hate thinking of where she came from and the conditions she suffered. She is registered and her papers came when she did - I buried them away and haven't looked at them since - it doesn't matter to me.

The day she was coming (and the weeks leading up to....) I was SO nervous ! I didn't know how Rudy would accept her, and wondered how we would do with 2 doglets !!! I took Rudy for a walk and we were rounding the corner and the rescue woman pulled up to the front of the house. She set Brandy on the ground - she was so tiny and thin. (She is still tiny and has filled out some - but her body shape is very thin). She and Rudy smelled each other outside and then we moved inside and let them loose. They ran all over - Brandy smelling stuff and Rudy following her and smelling her !!!! The woman checked out our home and we filled out the paperwork. She stayed that day and became a part of our family !!!! She and Rudy got along from the start and are now best buds. They don't cuddle together much - but if one or the other is not in the same room - they will bark for each other just to find out where they are. Brandy is such a little mama - she grooms Rudy all the time !!!

We are so blessed to have our little girl.....she is such a kissie girl....and she will get in your lap and swing around facing you and just sit and stare in your face - of course, you have to pet her and give her kissies !!!!
