Please keep my grandparents in your thoughts.  I was told that my grandmother has maybe a few days left, the family was told (by hospice) to come in no later than tomorrow if they wanted to see her so it's not good.  Please keep us in your thoughts for a peaceful passing for my grandmother and for my grandfather's comfort afterwards.  These are the people who originally had Gretchen so they are somewhat familiar to people here.  They were like my parents especially after I got up into high school and I feel like I'm losing my mother, so please keep us in your thoughts.

Well, Nanny is still with us in body.  Her mind is gone and she's not aware of anything/anyone around her though.  I came home tonight but will be going back tomorrow morning.  I just hope that on some level she feels OK with letting go since she is in pain and my grandfather sits beside her bed all day except when we forced him to come eat.  They've been married 56 years so it's going to be really hard on him.

I'm back.  My Nanny passed last week and we had her funeral this weekend.  We all got to say goodbye and She even asked to see Elf before we left the last evening.  She smiled at Elf and got a kiss on her forehead and a pat on the arm from the Elf.  We left her house and she passed early the next morning before we got back.  She was sleeping and just didn't wake up so it was peaceful.

I am so glad you were able to say goodbye.  She rallied one more time to see her precious family - that is a gift.  And a peaceful passing is another gift.  I know how hard it is now - sending you rays and prayers for strength. Watch over your Grandpa - he will need you.  Hugs April -

So glad she just passed in her sleep it is the best way to go if it is your time allot seem to get better right before they go its like they want to say goodbye one last time.Hope your Grandfather is doing better than you expected he would know mine did. I was raised by my Grandparents Grandma had breast cancer then years later she developed Bone cancer she was in so much pain I think my Grandfather was relieved when she passed he knew she was not in pain anymore they were married about 56 years also. Just be there for your Grandfather as much as you can be let him know he is loved thats about all you can do for him now. Very sorry about your situation your Doxie will be a big help for your Grandfather.
