I picked up Misty's ashes yesterday.  Such a tiny, little box they came in, petite, just like Misty.  Dan and I are thinking of burying her ashes this summer when we plant a lilac tree out front.  We'll make a sort of flower garden around the tree in honor of Misty.  Thanks to all of you for your condolences and good wishes.  It will take a while to get through our grief over losing Misty, she was such a sweetheart and so good.  She brought us so much joy.  We miss her terribly and we're hurting pretty badly, only the passing of time will ease the pain.  I know that we will look back and get a lot of peace of mind knowing she went peacefully, and we have nothing but happy memories of Misty.

She was definitely a special little girl and as sweet as they come. These pictures are so sweet but so heartbreaking it still doesn't seem possible. Life is so unfair sometimes. We're all thinking of you and Dan.

I just cannot imagine what you and Dan are going through.  You have been in my prayers and will continue to be.  I just wish there was something to say that could give you comfort Patty. As DeeDee said, it doesn't seem possible.

I think the flowers around the tree is a wonderful idea.   The pictures are wonderful and brought tears to my eyes.   You and Dan gave her a wonderful life....she was blessed.

The lilac tree and flower garden for Misty is a wonderful idea.  Those pictures are a beautiful reminder of Misty's life with you two and shows how much she loved and was/is loved.

Oh, what sweet pictures of Misty Moonlight!  I am glad you posted them.  She will always be a little angel for us.  I think having the ashes at home is a comfort.  I have Heidi's, Gretl's, and Siglen's safely stowed with photos, and I am comforted in knowing that they are near to me.

We had both Rudy & Max cremated.   Yes, it is somewhat astounding how little you get back, although we got back "more" with Max than Rudy (I don't even want to know why).   We spread Rudy's ashes over the backyard in the spot that he used to bathe in the sun.   We still have Max's ashes inside the house.   My plan is to spread his ashes, too, I just haven't found what seems like the "right" time to do it.  I may do it on what would have been his 18th birthday on the 27th of this month.

It is a tough time, and our thoughts and prayers do go out to you.
