Not sure if anyone caught the show on the pennycam this afternoon, but Penny was a naught puppy!  :evil6: When I was at work today I decided to check the pennycam to see how she was doing. Lo and behold when I brought the camera up there was Penny ripping up the potty pads in her pen  :hyper:. She was going crazy tearing everything up and when she was done she sat down in the middle of the mess (they were clean). She hasn't learned yet that it is okay to use the potty pads, so she just holds it until one of us can take her out - my mom has been coming while I'm at work to help us out!

She seems to be getting her personality back and is walking a lot better. She still has a hard time with uneven surfaces! She seems to be doing fine on 1/2 the prednisone so far! The big news is that she has slept through the night the last two nights, which she hasn't done for weeks :hello2: Just counting the days until her appt on Monday!

This maybe a crazy idea but might work when you take her out to go potty see if you can get some of her pee on part of the Potty Pads. If she smells her own pee on it maybe she would get the idea its OK to pee on them??? Told you it was crazy but she also is most likely bored too.

I know she is bored  :verdict: - we have given her new toys and treats and kongs trying to keep her busy, but after 4 weeks in her pen I think she is just plain tired of it!

Darn!  I missed that.  I do agree with PapBouv about getting her to pee on her pee pad outside!  When Brekke was just a baby, I used pee pads in the back of her crate, and divided the front into sleeping area, so she wouldn't have to walk through anything to exit!  I always dabbed a bit of pee onto the next pad so she would know where her bathroom was!     Yay!  Penny's feeling better!

Isn't it "great" the ways they find to entertain themselves?? I know how hard it is to endure the crate rest when they don't know it's for their own good. I am thrilled that she is getting back to her old self.. Its a sure positive sign if a Dachsie is being naughty, that they are feeling better!
Praying for good news about her next vet appt.
