Penny is Back in the Hospital

She had been doing so great, but last night when we took her out to potty she yelped when we picked her up. She hasn't yelped once since we got her home from surgery so that was a surprise. She has been crated or with one of us 24x7 so we knew she hadn't fallen or bumped into something. We took her out to potty and she just sat down. So we brought her in to her crate and put her in it and she wouldn't lay down just sat and shivered and a low whine. So we called the Dr at 11 pm and she said we could give her a bigger dose of Tramadal but it was hard to say since she couldn't see her. She said we could bring her in if we wanted she was there all night. So we finally decided to take her in - when they did the exam she yelped really bad again. She gave her a shot of pain killers and said we could take her home but she would prefer to keep her there for observation and the neurologist was going to be in this morning so she could exam her. So we ended up leaving her there which was heartwrenching. I'm waiting for a call this morning so I'll update you as soon as I hear anything.

Oh Kari - I can't believe it.  You and Drew must be so upset - I am too..  Bless Penny's heart - she has been through so much in the last couple weeks.  Please know we are here for you and will all be waiting to hear what the dr. says.  Hang in there - hugs to you.

Thanks Barb! We are really upset and frustrated! I felt so bad leaving her there again. And questioning....why is she in pain again?? I am justing sitting here waiting for the call hoping for some good news. I'll let you know...

Oh Kari, I am so sorry to hear this.  Please let us know how she is doing.  Hopefully she just needs the pain medication for awhile more.  I'm praying that all will be well.  Hang in there.  I know how difficult it is to see your furkid suffering.......  my heart is hurting for all of you.
