 I was watching them yesterday...........and noticed they both wag diffrently.
Amy's tail goes from the minute she wakes till snore time, and it held high and profusely wags. Oliver has the "wag when I need to attitude" and carries his tail curved into his flossies so only the tip wags, just a gentle swish.

Interesting observation.   Zeke almost always wags his tail, sometimes flopping it behind him as he trots around.   Zeke also thumps his tail on the ground when he is happy.   Zora doesn't wag as often, but when she does, her little rat tail zings from side to side.   Rudy was similar to Zora in that matter, but he would also thump his tail like Zeke.   Max would let his tail flop around happily, not unlike Zeke and had a steady wagging motion, except when he got really excited when it would whip around.   The funniest thing Max would do is when he would do his "alert" bark, his tail would stand straight up in the air, as if adding an exclamation point to his bark.

Hmm.  Cajsa waves her tail back and forth like a little red blur!  It's the whole tail going most of the time although if she's curled up and snuggly she'll just wiggle the last inch or so of tail and look at you.  Gretchen generally walks with her tail tucked and it really takes a lot of effort to get a tail wag out of her.  She's very careful and nervous I think.  She is better than she was a year ago though so improvement has been made.  Anyway, her tail wags are mostly a tentative wave back and fort while holding her tail as close as possible to her backside.  When she sees David come home though it's flying back and forth faster than the eye can see.

Dee Dee and Hallie

That's an interesting question. Hallie wags her differently for different things. Her usual wag though is just plain back and forth, fairly fast, unless I am leaning over to kiss her between the eyes like I often do, then it goes from still to a slow wag and a little smile as I lean over her. If she sees something very exciting outside like a cat, her tail is straight up and wagging short quick strokes. But her happy Hallie wag is left right horizontal swoosh at a medium/fast pace.
