Last night we had the biggest wind storm we ever had. I have a new appreciation for those of you that have to go through hurricanes. It was just starting when I came out of the gym and the wind literally tore my t shirt straight up over my head! I caught it just in time. I was standing there thinking the dang weather is ripping my clothes right offa me! It was so loud it sounded like an ocean was right outside my windows. 1.5 million people are without power this morning, Hallie and I are one of the lucky few who didn't lose power, it was from Oregon north along the coast. It was awesome and terrifying at the same time. Trees are down all over, lightning hit a transformer and there was flooding. Goodness the weather has been crazy this year and it's not even winter yet! I hope everyone else around here is ok. I was even afraid to let Hallie go out into her yard to potty, I stood right there and watched for falling trees and limbs. She thought it was pretty funny, she came in and did a runny attack before I could stop her, then she started to limp and I thought OH NO YOU DON'T don't you dare hurt yourself on a night like this we'd never make it to the vet! She was fine but I hovered shamelessly over her the rest of the night.

Good Lord, DD, I was going to ask you if you guys were okay down there.  I've been hearing about your weather, you guys are getting hammered!  I keep telling people they need to move to Alaska where the weather is mild and civilized.  But then again, we only have 650,000 people in the entire state, lets just keep it a secret.  Seriously, our weather is NOTHING like what a lot of people get in the Lower 48.  I can handle really cold, snowy weather, but wind and rain just suck, they make a big mess of everything.   When we get winds like you're getting, they issue a Small Dog Warning..........keep all small pets on a leash so they don't blow away.  You and Hallie hunker down in your cute little house, stay warm and dry!  Keep a few candles handy.

Last Friday morning it was 18 degrees when I got up with the wind blowing steadily. The high that day was going to be 40. Today it was 40 when I got up this morning and the high is supposed to be 70. Its supposed to be like this until Monday or Tuesday. I prefer the cold, myself. It makes it seem a little more like Christmas. I just can't believe the difference in a weeks time. This time last year we had one of our worse ice storms ever and about 2/3's or more of the city was without power, and about 1/2 of the residents had no power for several days, some for a week. At least it's not that bad this year! This morning they were blaming the weather changes on El Nino and said it would be this way all winter. At least we can't say it's boring!

We also had some pretty big fluctuations in temperature.  We went from clear and cold, zero-degree weather to +38 and rain, then back again.  I prefer the clear and cold.

DeeDee & Hallie,.....We're right there with you!  We have had the wind storms -- winds up to 75 mph --trees down, semis tipped on their sides on the road, and no power.  We, too, were lucky in that we didn't lose our power.  The storm hit here about 8:30 last night and went through the night and through most of today.  The winds are still blowing but not quite as hard!  Take the wind with the cold and rain, and it hurts to be outside.  THe boys are going out and doing their business and are right back in the house and they dive under the covers!

Wow Dee and Dave I didn't realize it was that windy on your side of the range too! Pretty scary wasn't it. Sure is alot of damage out there, we were both pretty lucky to have power thru the whole thing, 1.5 million people weren't as lucky! My brother and step Mother still don't have power.

Sounds like lots of crazy weather out there, all over the place! LOL small dog warning...I like that!

I'm glad to hear that everyone who is experiencing the storms are safe and sound.   I heard on the radio this morning that there were still over a million homes without power!  I'll surely be praying that all of those people have power soon!  That's got to be really rough over the holidays.

They are saying it could be several days before power comes back on for many people, my cousin isn't supposed to get power for a few days yet. So Hallie and I have her two Papillons here until they get power again. Hallie loves her cousins, she gets so excited in the morning she dances and races through the house with a big grin "WHEEE!!! MY COUSINS ARE HERE!!!!!!!! Which gives Mommy a heart attack so I have to hold her. They all get along great though, Hallie loves everyone and she gets to steal bites of their breakfast, what could be better! Right now they are all laying here together. She looks so tiny compared to them.
