When I went for my yearly mammogram, they had a small tree decorated with miniature silk  pink rosebuds and pink ribbons. One of the hospital volunteers had made it. It was one of the tabletop trees that stand about 12-18" high and was just beautiful. So far, I've found the tree, rosebuds, and ribbon, so I just need to remember how to put it together (I did tell the receptionist I may stop by again to take another look). I want to make one for the mom of a friend of mine who died from breast cancer 4 years ago. At this point, many people forget that the family still grieves each holiday and any other time they are together. I know how much I miss Sandi and I want her family to know they aren't fogotten. I'll post a picture when I get it finished.

Sounds like a beautiful tree.  Years ago, I took red felt ribbon and made a ribbon for my tree to represent drug and HIV awareness.  This year, I added 3 yellow ribbons for all deployed soldiers.  It's nice to put such rememberences on trees so that we can be reminded during the holidays about lost friends and loved ones and those who just can't be with us this year.
