Ok... I have been a good boy all week long.  And all i asked for in weturn was some tweats.   When momma opened da cupboard where she keeps my tweats, we saw a wittle mousie eating one of my tweats!  :cussing:   Since dat darn mousie got into da container where momma keeps dose tweats, we had to frow da whole fing away!!!   What a waste!    Dis is da second mousie we have found in our house and we haben't seen any evidence of oders yet.   So...we let our buddy Peter in da house and he catched dat mousie and shared it wif da baby kitty outside.
Usually, I get sad when anofer animals dies like dat, but it was justified, I tell ya!   :cussing:  And...to make mattwers worser, momma says we can't go buy more till daddy gets his paycheck!  That's still free weeks away!!!!  :doah: I fink I might die by then!    :dontknow:  Can't be sure though, I neber went dis long wifout my tasty tweats.

Porky's mom here:  I was so aggravated to find that ALL of the treats I made for Porky last month got inspected by that stupid mouse!   I had to throw all of them out!!  I really hope we don't find anymore.  I'm sure Peter chased them all out if there were more in here.  He is quite the mouser.   I am ashamed to admit, I burst into tears when I saw that Peter had captured and killed the mouse.    Even though he was icky, he sure was cute!   I guess I'm just too tenderhearted.

Porky made it sound like he has no treats now, although he still has some rawhides, some alps snaps, some pig ears...etc... The mice just got into the treats i made which seem to be his favorite for some reason. So...don't worry, the portly little puppy will not starve to death!   :2funny:

Hope you all are having a mouse free Saturday!!

Brekke here:  Aw, Porky Pie!  I am so sorry that mousie ate your treats!  My momma says your momma needs a ceramic or metal treat container to keep those mousies out!  I had a few mousies in my house when Daddy left the door open to the garage late spring!  Momma put some sticky traps down where I couldn't go, and they captured the mousies just fine!  There was one big one and three babies, so Momma said it was a "Mousen invasion"!  I'll be keeping my paws crossed that you don't get another one in your house, and especially in your treats!   That's just not fair!

Poor Porky its just that time of year for mouses to see what they can get into since we no longer have a cat Patches will have to be the mouser I sure she would go after one she seems to like to hunt.Maybe your Mom can get a roll of ground turkey it is fairly cheap she can make little meatballs nuke them in the microwave cut them up put them in the freezer just take a few at a time. Usually mouses do not get in the freezer.Ground Turkey is low in calories too my Mom made about 4 bags today ground turkey, turkey sausage, hamburger,& bacon bits only a few of those since they have sodium in them. Then in the morning Mom is going to nuke some Turkey dogs for Buddy to take to obedience class on Monday. The Turkey dogs only 88 cents at Walmart even my sister's vet recommended the Turkey dogs for her over weight Boston Terrier.
What kind of Treats were they maybe your Mom will share the recipe on how to make them I'm always up for any kind of new treat Patches. You know I do not think Buddy even tastes his treats he go gulp & they are gone, does not even chew them like Gizmo & I do but guess that is a boy for you not dignified like us girls.

  Oh no!  Porky, mum definately needs a better container.  Mum keeps our treats in plastic bins with flip type lids that she got.  She keeps our food in one of those big bends on wheels with a flip lid.  She doesn't like those nasty four-legged creatures with beady eyes.  Mum swears she saw one a few weeks ago out of the corner of her eye when she thought she saw something move by rather quickly.  Still, she thinks the rough playing that Abbie and I do all day long while she's at work keeps the mice away.  Please ask your mum to make you more treats soon.  I'm sure if you give her that puppy dog look she'll do so.

Sounds like its time to put a cat on the premises!
Seriously, I found mice in our old house, so we went to the feed store and bought Suzy and Sam for $5 each.  No more mice in the house OR barn.  Nowadays we have Pepper patroling the barn and I've never seen a mouse.  Can't have those mice eating (and contaminating) the dog food, treats or the horse's grain!

I keep most of Porky's treat in jars on the counter, but ran out of room to put these ones in too.  We do have cats that patrol the perimeter of our house also.  I'm not sure how that one got past them.   They are usually really good about getting all the creatures before they make it inside the house.   We let Peter have run of the house that evening and he only came up with one mouse.  I'm pretty sure we won't have more.    Thanks for all the suggestions!   I do agree with you Patty, cats are so important to keep those mice out.
