Today is Lucy's Gotcha Day!

One year ago today we picked Lucy up from the DRNA rep and fell in love!  She was so long and really skinny.  Berman didn't like her very much at first so I had to take off work the next day, and I worked with them all day till they were actually playing together!  Lucy had a problem with submissive urination and the DRNA rep was really worried that would cause a problem for us.  We just worked with Lucy and washed her blankets and denim panties every day and after a month or so, no more problem!

I am so glad we went through the rescue and found Lucy.  She has been an absolute joy and has added so much fun and happiness to our lives.  I get a Christmas tree ornament each year that symbolizes something good from that year.  Lucy's ornament is a red dacshie jack-in-the-box - perfect for my little clown!

(When we got Brandy, they were worried that her pooping multi times a day might cause a problem.  She had been adopted out and the woman kept her in a crate or in the house all day and would get upset that she pooped on the kitchen floor.  Brandy has to poop 5-6 times a day - she just can't hold it.  We are lucky and have a doggie door - but at night or rainy cold days, I get poop on the kitchen floor....but ya know what - I just clean it up and give my little one a kiss for doing it ON the kitchen floor and not hiding it !!!!  Life is messy - you just clean it up !!!  I am glad the woman sent her back - so I could find her and bring her home - she is MY little Princess !!!!)

I just loved your pictures of Lucy and Berman.  They are sooo pretty.  I am so glad Lucy has you.  I have two dachsies and they are the love of my life and I also have an Australian Shepherd mix I got from our local SPCA.  I have had my Aussie for six years now and she is the most wonderful dog.  Thank goodness for people like you.
