...SCORES!!!!!!  :hello2:

After much discussion, Margie and I are opening our hearts and our home to Zeke and Zora, currently owned by Yamisi.   Yamisi is caught in an unfortunate situation where her son has very severe allergies...coincidentally, the exact same set of circumstances that brought Max to me.  (Please, no comments that Yamisi should get rid of her child and keep the dogs),   Yamisi is totally heartbroken over the situation and has been working to find Zeke and Zora a forever home without splitting them up.   Yamisi mentioned this situation to us in passing after when I responded to her condolence message about Max and I asked about them.  She never dreamed that we would consider Zeke and Zora so soon after Max's passing.   Neither did we, but the circumstances were such that we could not pass up giving these two puppers, veterans of the Dachsie Hilton, a home that they are already familiar with.

Here is a piccy of the puppers taken back in 2003...

Even more important is that Zeke and Zora have a direct link to Rudy and Max.   They spent time together with them at the Dachsie Hilton, and Rudy had a direct influence on Zeke's coming of age.  If Rudy had a son, it would be Zeke.   Here are the four of them together on our couch:

Our heads are just spinning right now.  We can't believe that this is happening.   It's still going to be a couple of weeks for us to prepare the house, namely buttoning up the backyard fence and for my band schedule to quiet down a bit.   Nearly 14 years after Rudy & Max came into my home, the circle starts anew with Zeke & Zora.    Somewhere up there, I'm sure Rudy, Max and Rusty are wagging their tails in approval.

Wow, this is a wonderful story.  So sorry for Yamisi, but such a great outcome for Zeke and Zora and for your family.  You bet Rudy, Rusty and Max had something to do with this!

That is great news! I am so sorry for Yamisi, but I am sure that Max had something to do with this...he knew you couldn't be without another doxie (or 2)!

The dogapult.....aims and alas......scores!  It was meant to be especially with the tie-ins.  We are happy for you and the family and especially for Zeke and Zora.  I feel a sadness for Yamisi but she couldn't have found a more loving home for the two furkids.  Your three angels definitely had a hand in aiming the dogapult.  We are so happy for you and for Zeke and Zora!!

That is fantastic! They already know you a bit and I'm sure they will settle in fast. I love the photo of the four of them on the sofa together. Wow who would have ever thought, huh? Will be looking forward to updates as things progress.

Okay, I am crying here for Yamisi - we have talked on the phone about a health problem with one of the furkids a few years back, and she had even planned to come up and see me during one of her trips to L.A.- but I am certainly overjoyed that due to circumstances, you will have two puppers who already know you and have met your angels!  Rays for her as she prepares to do what is best for her son's health, and to you and your family as you prepare for a dashing duo!

Yes I think Max, Rudy and all the other angels were in on it. Poor Yasimi, but she at least knows they are going to a good home, and many thanks to Margie and Jessica.
We were the same after Ingid died, we would wait abit, but I think Ingird worked her magic and we got her mum.

The tears are here, too. Some are for Yamisi and some are a mix of emotion for your family. I'm sure that your three planned together for this, it couldn't have been done any other way. That is what brings the tears to my eyes for you. When we lost Kendall-angel, I planned to wait a few weeks at least. I survived 4 days in a dogless house, especially with it being Meghan's first year away at school. I can't wait to hear of the new adventures you will be experiencing!

What wonderful news!  My heart goes out to Yamisi...what a horribly difficult thing to have to do.  I'm sure it will make it easier for her knowing that Zeke and Zora will be in such a loving home!

David - once again you have brought me to tears.....that is such an awesome story !!!!  I know you and Margie and Jessica are heros in Yamisi's eyes......  I am just overwhelmed - what a win win situation !
I think it is perfect for your family, and your trio of angels, I feel sure, are giving you the paws up.

And for Yamisi - perfect for her too, in that she knows you and your home and you are close.

Congrats to all of you and can't wait to hear how Z&Z settle in!

It certainly seems like this is dog-vine intervention.  What a bitter-sweet situation for Yamisi's family, but she knows where to go to get a fix when she needs one.  And kudo's to you and Margie for opening your hearts again so soon.  I'm sure the Z's will help the pain ease.
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Jeri

Well, one can't fight the dog-a-pult!  I know Yamisi loved those kids and if she could have made it work, she would never have given them up.  They are going from one loving home into another.  Everyone is so lcuky!  These are great little dogs!

Congratulations on your set of ZZ's!!!!! :thumb:
I kind of had a feeling that this was who it was when you first mentioned it.
I am sure Yamisi is very grateful that people who know and love them are taking them. It will be a big weight off of her. Tell her how sorry we are that things worked out like this and we know how very much she loves her pups.  At least she knows you and can visit them if she wants.
It is wonderful that these pups have the connection to Max and Rudy. They will really feel like they are home after all the visits they have made to your "Doxie Hilton" over the years.
I just know Max worked his magic to make this all work out when he knew it was time for him to leave. He made sure you would have more doxies to love.
You are wonderfull doxie parents to take on the ZZ's after such a recent loss.

Talkin' about AWESOME!!  Yay!  :apls:  And you've kept it in the "family", so to speak, the Dachshund Circus family!  I feel so bad for Yamisi but boy howdy, Zeke and Zora couldn't have found a better home.  David and Margie and Jessica.......YOU ROCK! :headbang:

What pretty pups they are!!!  I am so sad for Yamsi for having to give them up though. That would be so hard!!!  Its really great that you are able to help them out.  Good for you!!!

MindyKay

OK, my makeup is ruined!  How wonderful!  They are beautiful puppers!

Congratulations on your new additions. I bet it will be an easy adjustment for them and a nice distraction for all of you. At least Yamisi can keep in touch with you about them and they couldn't have fallen into a better home. Keep the updates and pictures coming!

Leslie

This sounds like a win-win situation if ever I heard one.  Yamisi knows her kidz are in great hands, and the you get two great pups. I know Yamisi and her family are sad, but this must certainly ease her anxiety.

I've been out of town, and just catching up on the board.

Went from heartache & tears of grief for you and Margie, to joy, more tears for Yamisi, and am now in absolute overwhelm of emotions.  You are all in my heart.  The irony is just too much.  Love to you all.

That's wonderful news, David!  That really makes me smile.  I'm sure that Rusty, Rudy and Max had something to do with bringing you the two ZZ's! :angel4:  I'm sure this was a terribly difficult decision for Yamisi to make, but she's got to be overjoyed with the fact that her two doglets are going to such a loving and wonderful new family.  Congratulations on your new addition. :thumb:

Kelly

I am sooooooo happy for all of you! I have a feeling that Jessica will enjoy them.

Dianne

I think this is the most awesome and inspiring story.

This is a wonderful groups of people and it shows when a family and their puppers are in need...someone steps forward and things are made right!
