AHA!!!!

I thought of a story from my early chidlhood in Aurora IL (late 1950's).

I was 4 years and playing in the yard getting filthy dirty.  As it was a Sunday, we always went to visit both sets of grandparents (yeah , families did that sort of thing back then).  So, my mom called out to me that I needed to get cleaned up and I should go on the porch and take my dirty clothes off before coming inside.

Well, we had 2 porches.  One on the side of the house where the yard was and one in the front facing a busy street.

Yep, I choose the front porch and stood out there for a good 15 minutes with absolutely no clothes on waiting to be let into the house.  Finally my dad came looking for me to see why I wasn't at the back door and getting ready to go.  I insisted that I did what I was told to do.  THEY didn't specifiy which porch, so I chose....

Nope, sorry, no picture.  I'm lucky to remember the event much less if anyone honked at me.

They did take a "cute baby" picture when I was about 6 months old.  Most parents take it of the naked child lying on it's belly on a rug or blanket.  Me?  I was photographed lying on my back in the bathtub.  Thank goodness it wasn't COLD water....
