Road Trip Last Weekend!

Ozzy here:  I got to go on a road trip this past weekend.  Thursday afternoon, Mom loaded a suitcase, my kennel, and a box of my stuff into the car.  She put me in the car and we took off for a long car ride!!!  When we stopped, we were at my buddy Sam's house (Sam is a cocker spaniel) in St. Louis.  The next morning, we got up very early, missed the traffic in St. Louis and went on another long car ride!!!  When we stopped, we are at Grandpa and Grandma's in Indiana!!!  We stayed there for a couple of days, while Mom attended a party Saturday night.  Sunday afternoon, we got back into the car, went on a long car ride, and ended up back at Sam's.  I got to play with Sam and "play" with the ferrets again!!!.  Monday, we got back into the car and after another long car ride, we were back home.  I LOOOVE car rides!!!!

Mindy:  One of my cousins and her husband celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows and having a party Saturday night.  Since this is the side of the family I don't get to see often, I decided to go by myself.  I don't trust myself to drive all the way to Indiana, so I broke up the trip, stopping at relatives who live just outside of St. Louis.  This was the first trip I took by myself by car, and was a little nervous.  Everything went well, and I think my confidence in myself to drive long distances has increased.  Ozzy sure enjoyed himself, but he sure wanted to "play" with the ferrets!  He kept sticking his nose in between the bars of their cage, wanting to get at them.

Are ferrets "prey" to Ozzie?  He kept doing his play-bow, but I'm not sure if he meant "to play," or "to eat!"  Anyway, we kept the ferrets and Ozzy apart by keeping the ferrets in their play cage.

Ain't long goforarides just fun!!  We also had some long ones, the longest was 8 hours, but mom stopped twice to give us water and snacks and let us out for a pp!

Congratulations on a mission completed.  I think long trips are often easier than shorter ones.  You just set the cruise control and go.  Clifford usually goes to sleep after the 1st 30 minutes until we come to another town.  Then he wakes up and barks "hello" to everyone he sees.

Ferrets would be shake-N-bake din-din if Ozzy caught them.  Think skwirl with a long body (mmm, tastes like chicken!!).

Sounds like a great trip !!!  Congrats on your first solo trip......with Ozzy riding shotgun !!!   I agree with Mike - long trips are much easier with the doglets - I am always glad when they finally settle down and snooze.  Glad Ozzy didn't get to the ferrets - I am afraid they would have been goooooooone.....

Ozzy, road trips are fun, especially when you get to see people along the way.  Glad you enjoyed yourself.
