Schatzi here- My mama is being really mean right now. We went out on the patio and suddenly I knew there was another dog or cat right outside the fencing. Mama went and got my leash, but when we went out, the invader was gone. I sniffed and sniffed and couldn't find it. Mama made me come in before I could track it down and now she won't let me back out, no matter how much I whine and do my high pitched bark. I just don't understand. I wonder if it's because I kept wrapping the leash around the shrubs.

I thought I would enjoy eating supper on the patio since it was finally cool enough to do so, but no, Schatzi had to go and investigate and see what was invading her space. After about 10-15 minutes of her sniffing around and constantly weaving in and out of the shrubbery, I decided it was time to come in. Usually she is fine, but not tonight. She is bound and determined that I'm going to take her back out to find the critter. I guess supper will be inside after all, and at this rate, not very peaceful! Oh the joys of a scent hound!

LOL hate to laugh...but it does paint a visual! Did you figure out what it was? These little shortcakes of ours don't miss a trick! Sorry you had to miss your relaxing outdoor dinner!

Oh, don't I know THAT frustration!!!! We live in an area with rabbits. Need I say more? Both my girls have been to too many field trials to ignore that scent. Time does heal all - even though it doesn't seem like it will at the time. Thanks for the laugh. Misery really does like company!

Well, I now know there is a cat that wanders around. Yesterday when we went out on the patio, I was smart enough to look over the fence first and happened to spot it. We immediately turned and went in before Schatzi had a chance to catch a whiff of it's scent! Now everytime I'm anywhere near the patio door, she thinks she needs to go and investigate and protect her territory. What fun!
