Heeeeyyy!!  I MISS you guys!  I had just about enough time to check out all the cool pictures and stories and DODs, but there's not enough time to respond to everyone, so Happy DoD to all our wonderful Wieners and a general "Get Well" to anybody on the sick list.

We are all doing well; Loki's itchies got worse and was showing no sign of improvement, so off to the vet.  She had a minor infection from scratching, but nothing serious. I didn't think it looked all that bad, but she was really cranky, (and believe it or not, that it not like her) so I thought she needed to be seen.  She got a shot of Pred and some anti-biotics and the vet said to continue the Benedryl.  I must say that we had a NICE experience at the vet's.  Loki wanted to meet everyone in the whole waiting room and made loved up the vet.  She managed to cajole TWO cookies from her.

Zuzu is her regular, happy loving self and would sit quietly in the back yard under her favorite bush all day if I let her. I've managed to keep her weight down and I think she has a bit more energy.

On the whole, I am happy that the girls are adjusting very well to my new work schedule.  I wish I could say the same, I had forgotten just how exhausting a 40 hour work week can be sometimes. I actually had a dream about being tired. But I am getting a real paycheck  :headbang: YAY! My co-workers are nice and I think it's a good match for me.

Hope everyone is well and happy!

Good to hear from you, Leslie. I don't get here as often as I used to, but I did see that you're now a working mom. Congrats! Good jobs are hard to find. And good jobs that are a good fit, well....about impossible!

Sorry to hear about Loki's itchies. Our last dachshund club meeting was at a vet clinic where one of the club member's dog (a standard red LH named Winston) goes for his accupuncture for a sore neck. Anyway, among all the reasons  for accupuncture, allergies and temperament were among the ones that really surprised me. Gretchen has an appointment tomorrow. Ron and I figure that she will benefit 2 ways - her temperament and her back. I just thougth I would mention it for Loki's allergies.

I sure hope Gretchie finds some relief with the acupuncture.  Our vet has an acupuncturist at the clinic; I hear amazing things.  I think Loki's allergies are not (yet) too serious to require any other intervention.  We have had a VERY VERY good growing season out here in SE Pennsylvania  (of course, I didn't plant anything!!!!)  and the grass is still lush and green.  I think her allergy is the result of cumulative exposure.  If I were suffering the same symptoms I wouldn't do a darn thing about it except take an oatmeal bath.  But the little boogers cannot talk and tell you what their level of discomfort is, so it's frustrating when they have any kind of owie.

Glad to see you !!!  Sure glad the job is working out - nothing more miserable than going somewhere each day that you hate.  Rays to Loki to get past the itchies !!!  Smoochies to both girls....

Sorry to here she is not much better. I know how you feel about the 40 hours I went back to full time in March, and it is hard going, the people are good and the workplace pretty laid back plus the pay is better.

Good to hear from you Leslie.  Good luck with the job.  I hope Loki feels better soon.

Hey, Leslie - glad to hear the new job is a good fit, and sorry to hear about Loki's itchies!  I start back next week, so I am down to the last few days, and waiting for a new circuit board in the condenser of the fridge.  We have a temporary fix, but...
Anyhow, it sure would be nice to see you (or several people!) in chat soon.
