Story about me that my Hoomans would like to share:  Misty entered DRNA’s system at the young age of 5 months, just two hours after Tom Flynn in Atlanta, Georgia received my application to rescue a doxie.  This was on a Thursday afternoon.  A review with the DRNA board was conducted on Saturday afternoon, and it was determined that our home would be a good home for “Silver Belle” as they had named Misty.  A home checked would be waived provided I met “Belle” at the airport in Anchorage, AK with a sweater.  A wonderful airline attendant named Tres used her free travel and two days off to escort Misty all the way from Atlanta to Anchorage on Tuesday.  I will never forget seeing Misty for the first time.  She was such a long, slender little girl, who immediately went pee on the carpet in the airport when Tres let her out of her sherpa bag.  Tres simply blotted it up with a puppy pad and all was well.  After lots of picture taking and hugs, I put a little red doggie sweatshirt on Misty and we headed home.  She curled up on my lap and fell asleep.   Willy was a bit upset when we brought Misty home that night.  We kept him and Alex on leashes for the introduction.  Alex was sweet to Misty, but grumpy old Willy had to be sent to his cave to sulk until he could be a gentleman.  The next morning, Willy and Misty started playing and wrestling.  Willy was obviously letting Misty win.  All three dogs have been buddies ever since.

HAPPY DOD, Misty!

She's such a cutie!  Congrats on your Dod tomorrow, Misty!  (I have another name for this sociable, long, little girl - lap hog!  When I was at DD's in 2001 with Siglen and Gretl, Misty was the first dachsie there.  That makes her alpha, so she pushes my girls off my lap and snuggles in!  Her momma thought that was rude of her, but I totally knew where Misty was coming from, and I thought it was cute!)  Smoochies for your special day, sweet girl!

She is just adorable. And I too can attest to the fact that she is a SWEETheart! And a very lucky one at that. Happy DOD Misty!

Great posting Patty, but then you have a beautiful subject.  Being partial to dapples (after my little smooth red, of course), I can understand Dan's attachment to his little grrl.

Outside my window here at work is a "dappled" tree.  I think Sycamore would be a great dappled dachsie name, eh?
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

I don't know Terri, I think I've posted pictures of Misty before.  One thing I notice about her dapples, she is getting darker the older she gets.  Other dapple owners have said the same thing about theirs.
