My neice Lauren, who is nine, and I decided to surprise her stepmom with pictures of her and her new sister for Mothers Day. We had my brother get Lori out of the house, changed Allison's clothes and Lauren created the poses. I then printed out the pictures and then a couple of days later, picked up Lauren and took her to get a frame-we chose one that held 6 pictures so choosing the shots would be easy-and then we looked for a quote or saying to put with them. We finally found the perfect quote for this blended family..."Motherhood, however it comes to you, is always a miracle."
When Lauren saw this she said "This is perfect. Lori became a mother to me when she married my dad and then she became Allison's mother when she gave birth to her." This is one special and really cool kid. I wish there one many more like her in this world. Anyway, here are a few pictures for you to see. Lori loved the gift and couldn't believed we had pulled it off without her knowing anything about it. She especially loved the quote.

Teresa, those are wonderful pictures!  My favorite is the two of them lying on the blanket.  How cute!!!  What a wonderful Mother's Day present, and the quote on the picture frame is really great.  Where did you find the picture frame?  I would love to get one for my stepmother.  Sounds like you have a pretty terriffic niece.

I found the frame itself at AC Moore (a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby) I think Target also has them. It is made of acrylic and looks like 6 individual acrylic frames glued together so you have some vertical and some horizontal. For the quote, I found a set of scrapbook stickers in the scrapbooking section. They were mostly baby related. That quote was the first or second sticker on the set and was said by Valerie Harper. If you can't find the quote, I can get one and send it to you. I'm only 5 or 10 minutes from the store. The frame shouldn't be too hard. I'll try to find a picture of it to post.
