Hello from Wisconsin

First of all, I'm not currently mom to a dachshund. I am, however, mom to Albert the Wonderpug and a very old, scrawny cat. I'm interested in learning more about dachshunds because, once my kitty passes, I may try adopting a rescue dachsie, most likely adult/senior dog.

I want to research the breed now to decide whether it's a good match. I'm learning a lot from this site as well as other sites and so far dachsies seem to have some qualities similar to pugs (stubborn dogs that are trainable when they're in the mood or properly bribed with treats). Anyway, I have some time yet (I hope) before my kitty is gone and am enjoying reading your posts here.
