Hi All!
Thanks again for the great posts regarding the crate.
Lilly will be a year this month and has already been "fixed" about 3  months ago. Is it time to upgrade her food? I swear, I think miss thang  has gained like 5 lbs this week! Is it weight gain, or could they just look bigger when there hair starts getting longer. She is a mini (or shall I say "A Tweenie") LOLOL.
I have had a couple of people over this week who havent seen her in a while  and they called my sweet little angel baby a, a, a, a, a, a, a,  a porker    :cussing:
Thanks !

Porky here: I was born a little chubbylicious.  That's how I got my name.  I slimmed down a lot though.  I turn one April 9th, and momma has switched me over to big boy food.  Just be careful to get small breed food, cause otherwise we can choke on the regular food.

Porky started his "big boy" food about a month ago.  He has been doing really well with the change.  I can't believe someone would call your beautiful Lily a Porker to your face!  How rude!  But, if she is gaining weight quickly...now would be a great time to switch over to "big girl" food. I wasn't really sure when to make the switch for Porky, but we just did it when we noticed he was gaining weight more quickly than he had in the past.  Maybe someone else on this board knows if there is an exact age you are supposed to switch them over.  Hope I have been at least a little help to you.  Sorry I can't help more.

I actually switched Cajsa over when she was 6 months old.  I just gave her a high quality food so it had less filler and such and gave her food amounts that were towards the higher end of the range on the bag.  When she started gaining weight  and getting chubby, I just cut it back to what she needed to maintain a good weight.  I personally don't think it makes a difference about the age as long as it's a good quality food.  I switched her to Solid Gold and she did wonderfully on it for a while.  Since discovering her allergy issues we've switched her to something else.  It's chicken based instead of beef and she does much better.  We think beef in high amounts irritates her tummy although that's not proven yet.
